Well, it finally happened I bought a Mackie mixer after using only Behringer equipment for the last 5 years. I dunno why I did it???? Oh yeah I know why.....

I got a Mackie Micro Series 1202 12-channel mixer for $25 at a auction. Hopefully it works.

So the Mackie Micro Series 1202 for $25, did I get a good/decent deal? Or did I get hosed?

$25 is a deal on that provided it works well. If it's not the VLZ model it's actually the first model that came out in the mid -later 80's. The original model only had high/low on the channels - no mids. The VLZ series added mids and better preamps in the early 90's. Both still great little boards for as small as they are. Know there are no effects built in so this would need to be added as well.

It has only the HI/LO on each channel, so it must be the "original" figured I will hoox it up to the home PC, and use it for recording. I figured for $25, not bad.

Not a bad deal at all, I used the original with another company when I first started in karaoke, it is still a very clean sounding board - again provided it was cared for and works well. Back then it ran about $300 new.

Damn nice deal especially if it works 100%. I mean you can't get a new cheapo 4 channel mixer for that price.

Has one pot that is bent, other than a lil dust it looks good. Gonna hook it up this weekend and give it a try.

I swear by Mackie boards, and they're all i've used for years and have proven themselves to be reliable workhorses.

I have a 1202-VLZ in my main rig, which would have been the model after yours.. they made a VLZ Pro afterwards that is supposed to have improved mic preamps.

Provided they didn't hose you with some outrageous shipping, and all the channels work, i'd say $25 for a 1202 is a solid buy.

No built in effects, but I gotta be honest.. i've never been a big fan of built in effects on anything.

Well, hooked it up and it works great. So for $25 got me a mixer to hook up to the PC so my wife will quit buggin me to record her.


Now if I could convince her to let me build in 2 of my Behringer B300 Powerd 15" speakers into the entertainment center, all will be good. BTW my living room/kitchen area is in a 15'X35' room. Perhaps the 2 B300s would be a bit much, but I could keep my neighbors up all nite watching "The Wall". hmmmm...maybe a disco ball to???
