Post subject:  On a budget and need a soundcard/ Mixer combo

Okay this question has less to do with Karaoke than with my solo gig, and I know you guys know the answers:

I am on a tight budget.

My current system consists of:
Yamaha EMX 512 SC
EV SX300
Creative Audigy Soundcard EXTERNAL
Beta 58 Microphones

I play a solo gig at some places that have their own PA with their mixers OFF stage. So I usually need to lug my mixer around to plug in my laptop, guitars and microphones. The main out of my mixer which is on my desk then plugs into the house mixer so I can control levels from stage.

What is your recommendation if I did not want to lug my mixer around, and get something more compact, like a lexicon or a compact mackie mixer? It needs to have a decent delay effect and some sort of tone control. I am a tweaker, so I need volume bass, mid and treb controls on each channel. Does the lexicon offer soft EQ?

Can I do this with a Lexicon? Will I have latency issues if I am playing live?

Thanks in Advance!

No the Lexicon does not have any eq ability built in. It's more a front end for recording but also makes a great sound card.
Take a look into a small compact mixer like the Mackie ProFx 8 would be a good choice to replace having to bring the mixer amp.

Thanks Lon

I was looking at that exactt same mixer as one of my options. I will keep my eyes open for a used on on Ebay or Gumtree.

Thanks again
