Sound Choice now offers mp3g disc packages. Pop Hits monthly also sells their monthly update cds in cdg format now too. Another way you can increase your song collection fast without sitting in front of the computer all day ripping cds is purchase a few of the cavs Super cdg collections (Just make sure you have a DVD rom so you can read the cd). Those cds range anywhere from 400 songs to 1200 songs. There is software (Roxbox Karaoke File Converter) you can purchase that will rip songs from a the cavs format to mp3+g files. |

Forgot to mention there are a few website you can legally download and use for your karaoke jobs. www.selectatrack.com (Sunfly, EZ Hits, Zoom, SBI karaoke manufactures) www.buykaraokedownloads.com (this site offers a 6 month subscription to download all the new songs as they come out) |

Downloads are a tricky business as there is no licensing for commercial use of downloads. The SuperCDG's are a great way of getting a lot of songs. For $80 shipped you can get 3500 songs in three DVD's. and $130 shipped of 2700 songs on 6 discs. The RoxBox conveter makes it easy to convert to MP3+G. |

You can buy from the download sites above, but doing it a song at a time is going to cost you a LOT. The quick-hit is the SCDG discs & RoxBox ripper. bobbaggio @ Mon Aug 09, 2010 5:10 pm wrote: I don't wanna deal with CD's Keep in mind, you only touch the CD's once. You rip (copy) the tracks to your computer hard drive and then play them digitally.

No you need Karaoke File Converter to do the Supercdg's. The best route is ebay. |

In my opinion, if you are going to bother with SCDG discs, then I would avoid getting the nutech set no matter how cheap you can get it. COMPLETE waste of money. If you can still find them, I would look for either chartbuster essentials or even better the DK millenium set. course I have no clue where to get either one. -James |

Better than SGB quality in my opinion. I own the Chartbusters and the nutechs and think that the nutechs are close to chartbuster's quality. The biggest difference between the two is that the nutechs are Multiplex while the chartbusters are not. Most players have a multiplex button built into them these days, with the exceptions being the winamp based and Karma. |

These are not synthesized are they? I downloaded some Karaoke songs and the background music sounded like the original but it was all synthesized and in the wrong key for the most part. regardless of price, are these nutech ones professional enough to play at a show? I just want, not the original music, but as close to it as possible? |

The original CDG series of nutech was highly synthesized but I don't believe that is the case with the SuperCDG. Quality is above Sweet Georgia Brown which while most were clunkers they had gems as well. |

Then you want Sound Choice. The best in my not so humble opinion. http://www.soundchoicestore.com/gem-son ... pg-63.html |

The best in my not so humble opinion. http://www.soundchoicestore.com/gem-son ... pg-63.html Agree for probably 90% of the music, that GEM set they just released is killer for that. These Nu-Tech discs are pretty crappy IMO, actually when they first appeared in the early 90's, they were as good as anybody else musically, they were sued for taking the music from other companies and adding their own video/graphics to them. They later had to re-release those songs they were nailed on which became very synthy sounding. |

I don’t know why some are so hard on the nutechs; they work and sound fine to me, and the value is unbeatable compared to other brands or systems. Along with my regular karaoke discs of various brands, I have the nutech three pack (3702+ songs) and the Magic Tracks disc with another 1100+ songs (some repeats, of course), and I’d hate to think of what all those songs would cost me, even for the negligible improvement (real or imagined) in sound. I think… well, actually I know from experience, unless someone runs across some super-anal folks, that they’re good enough to take out to a show. |
