Hello, everyone What can I say about me? I'm 47, married to a wonderful bald man, our background is in systems engineering and aviation, but we gave it all up to buy a semi and team drive...for the money, of course. We both love karaoke. I like to tell off-color jokes, imitate a variety of different voices, and sing bizarre, unusual, and sometimes offensive songs. I tried stage comedy at one time, but it stressed me out, whereas karaoke is relaxing and casual. Most of my favorites are in French. The audience does not understand the words, but I usually get more applause than the other singers, because the music itself is so good, or perhaps because I joke about things like lesbianism and necrophilia. I hand-picked a few classics from my favorite band, "Les Rita Mitsouko" and created custom CDGs, with some interesting slide shows. Since it is so very difficult to find the music that I like, perhaps because it has a narrow band of interest and won't sell too well, I decided to start producing some karaoke songs to distribute commercially, and hope to have an album out this year. Naturally, I have a few questions that I'm going to sprinkle around, so I'll see you all in the appropriate forums. -denise |
