I bought a Gemini MRC-6 road case in early July and have been saving it for when I get equipment to mount into it. Just discovered today that the darn thing is too wide by about 1/4 inch. I posted pictures below. I'm so angry because the online vendor I bought it from has a really strict return policy. If it's past 30 days and/or opened, it can't be returned. I'm considering writing to Gemini. Aside from the problems, the case really was a lot heavier than I expected, even with nothing in it. I've worked with the SKB road case and that is much lighter (and I know it's made well) so I'd like to just get my money back and go for the SKB. Just needed to vent! |

A few years back I purhchased a case sort of like that. I took all my equipment Mixer, Amp, BBE maxmizer, Power Conditioner and CDG player and re-reacked everything in one case so all I had to do was plug in speakers and power and GO. (before I used a pc). The case LOOKED AWESOME ..except one thing ...I couldn't pick it up by myself. It was fin HEAVY but more so just too big and awkward. Had to return the case ! |

Can you take one of the rack rails off and put a strip of 1/4" plywood between it and the side of the case as a spacer? I know a new product should be built properly but at least this would save you having to buy a whole new case. |

A very good idea!! I will attempt to return it, as it is much heavier than I expected anyway, but if I can't do that, I'll deal with the weight and see if I can't modify the case by this method. Good suggestion. |
