http://www.yourcablestore.com/XLR-Patch ... _c_77.html

I came across this website shopping for cables. These prices seem abnormally low for cables! A 100-ft XLR to XLR cable for $10??

Has anyone ever shopped here? Should I be skeptical? I've always heard if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I mean, I'm not looking for top-of-the-line gold-plated cables here. I never noticed a difference in quality when I pay a lower price, but they are practically giving these away!

The 100' cable has $12 of shipping. They sell the same cable on ebay for $19 delivered. Their ebay store has 40000 feedback. They're legit, yes, but probably not the most durable.

Agreed, I'd be very concerned about their durability. Looking at the photos those mic cables use the cheapest of the cheap XLR plugs. I had bought a 10 pack similar to that off musicians friend, I've had to repair them over and over again and 3 of the 10 have been tossed because I simply couldn't repair them anymore.

Honestly, if you're looking for budget cables, I just ordered a bunch from GLS Audio (Orange County Speaker). They have far more durable plugs and the cable itself seems to be much stronger and larger gauge. Now, a 100ft cord is about twice the price of what you're looking at here, but still far cheaper than you'll find it anywhere else. Now I only just got my cables from them last week so we'll see how they last but they seem at least as nice as the Mogami cables I had been buying.

Letitrip, I also bought some of the GLS Audio cables. Haven't used them yet either, just got them Monday. If they work as good as they appear, all will be great. I bought the 25' colored mic cables so it will be easy to see who has which mic. Mine also came with the velcro straps to secure them. Very reasonable, quick delivery.

Yeah I forgot to mention that but they do include those velcro straps which is nice. I got to use a few of the 50 footers and 30 footers I bought this past weekend. They seem to be very solid, the strain reliefs are nice and secure which is always important. While not the heaviest gauge mic cords I own, they definitely feel as good as the Mogami silver's I've usually bought in the past. Sturdy yet not unyielding so they route and wrap really nicely. If they end up being fairly durable, I'll be extremely happy with the purchase.

This company sells inexpensive cables which I've found to be durable. Several styles are available with EWI or Neutrik connectors, and either their starline cable or quad cable. http://www.audiopile.net/products/Mic_I ... bles.shtml A 100ft cord is $31 plus shipping.

If you are buying more than a few 100ft cables which are all going between the same start and end points, you should consider a snake instead.
