Hello, I am just wondering if there is a way to edit a cdg file to change a word?
Saw the thread about the tired of cdg, but am not interested in converting the entire industry. Just if there is an easy way to change one word in a song in an existing cdg file.
Thanks

Unfortunatly, the CDG file isnt just a document you can edit. It's synchronized with the audio, so essentially you have to re-do the whole thing.

Not True at all. There are a couple of programs that are available to fix errors in CDG files, I've tried one and it was a bit too techie for me so I gave up but there are some folks out there that are very good at it.
The way it works is that you have to edit the word one pixel at a time. At least that was the way it seemed to me. There may be some short cuts to make it faster but I gave up on doing it early on.

Well you may find it completely stupid, but I have a song i'd like to sing and not have the F-Bomb pop up on the screen. I'm just funny that way.

What song? and how many times does the word have to be changed? what do you want to replace it with??? Heck, FRIG or something else?
Maybe I can ask one of the people that do it well to help you out? No guarantees but I can ask.

Like I said...it isn't as easy as using a "CDG Word Processor" or some such and simply changing a few letters. You are essentially bit-editing the graphics in the CDG file one pixel at a time.
Unless you get off on such minutiae...it's faster (and easier) to just re-do the whole thing from scratch.

I have a couple songs from Zoom that actually spell it completely out. One is a Scissors Sisters song - I Can't Decide.
