Hey folks... I'm a long-time wannabe singer but very new to the karaoke community. I was hoping I might be able to find some answers to some questions that have been bugging the hell out of me.
Alice in Chains is not only my favorite band, but their music also falls directly in my vocal wheelhouse; it's the perfect stuff for me to sing. And depressingly little of their karaoke music seems to exist. I was wondering if anyone had a clue why that was.
In particular, my perfect-world wish list is:
Down in a Hole
Don't Follow
Nutshell
Sunshine
Sea of Sorrow
Rain When I Die
We Die Young
Brother
It Ain't Like That
Also, Mad Season:
Wake Up
River of Deceit
I'm assuming it must have something to do with copyrights or some sort of legal issues... just seems like after so many years, songs that people want to sing would've found their way into the karaoke world.
Anyway, if anyone here can enlighten me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks folks.

That is one of the bands that are hard to get karaoke licenses for at least in the US. Many of the "Seattle Grunge Scene" are the same way. Hopefully Pocket Songs is going to fulfill many of those requests soon!

Ahh, that is definitely a bummer. Guess I'll keep a lookout for AIC on Pocket Songs.
Thanks man.

When did Sound Choice put out Your Decision?

Yeah, I'm interested in that. I have only 4 songs by them.
No Excuses - SC
Again - SC
Man In A Box - Amerising
Would - Top Tunes
Many people have asked for more AIC.

Well like stated above SBI which you can get through selectatrack.com has 12 Alice In Chains songs. All which are very good recordings (I have them all). The Man In The Box blows the Amerising version away musically in every respect.
I was questioning "Your Decision" made by Sound Choice. I have it through SBI along with Check My Brain (both off the new album) and Your Decision from Chartbuster which isn't as good as the SBI, but as far as I know SC has not released this one.

Hey Lonnie! How have you been, man? I haven't talked to you in ages. What's going on over at Pocket Songs? I always thought they produced mainly showtunes. Did something happen, prompting them to branch out? Thanks.
I've always wanted "Sea Of Sorrow" on karaoke. Mikey (dumbdrums) and I actually MADE our own version of it. I got tired of waiting, . And I'm REALLY surprised that some of Stone Temple Pilots' early hits have never been done by an overseas company. "Sex Type Thing," "Dead And Bloated," and especially "Creep" were huge hits!

Been alright. Keeping myself busy as much as I can.
No nothing really is going on at Pocket Songs, but one of our members is the studio manager (I believe) and asked what we'd like to see. A full grunge disc was one of my suggestions and hopefully it can come to light! Here is the thread in question.

Try SBI Karaoke based out of the UK. They have quite a few Alice in Chains tunes and are priced very reasonable.

Licensing is always going to be an issue to a degree, but popularity I think is the biggest hurdle to some of the less common songs.
Stuff that never got any radio airplay, or that nobody but die hard AIC fans would recognize I doubt would be a priority for many manus.
Probably why you don't see more Five Finger Deathpunch karaoke out there.. or Devil Wears Prada... or Escape The Fate.
How many songs by Sweet are available for karaoke besides 'Ball Room Blitz'?
