I want to make a mini disc recording from my karaoke tracks. I have had one done before by making a disc first and then putting it on the mini disc, my question is can i put the tracks onto a memory stick and then onto the mini disc, instead of making a disc first. than you |

Most mixers have a TAPE OUT section of RCA outs that sends a line-level main mix out signal to any recording device you might have with line-level inputs. Connect the RCA wires and record away. |

When we do live band recordings this is how we do it to our mini-disk (or in some cases when using the digital consoles we send S/PDIF to the mini-disc instead). It really is the easiest way and is exactly what the 2TR out is designed for. |

Thank Guys. I don't think i explained it properly. I don't have a mini disc player, i get someone else to make it for me.It's so when i go to Spain i can use it in some bars. So what i was asking , the last time i had one done, i had to make a disc of my songs from my karaoke collection, and then he copied the tracks onto a mini disc. So will i have to do the same again or can he do it straight from a memory stick. Thanks again |

Do you mean a regular CDG? Or what? |

This is the MiniDisc I'm used to dealing with and assume the OP is referring to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiniDisc If that's correct you'd have to ask the person who's making the discs for you what format he needs. I can't recall ever seeing a standalone MiniDisc recorder that could read an MP3 and convert it. Usually they need an audio input (i.e. from a CD player or console or something) and record in real-time. There may be PC based solutions that would allow him to directly convert an MP3 or WAV to the MiniDisc (like burning any other CD) however I'm not aware of one. Again you'd have to ask him what he's got and what his requirements are. |

Thanks for your inputs. Most artists in pubs and clubs use these Mini Discs with there backing tracks on. When you go to somewhere on holiday like Spain, the artists have these Mini Discs and go from pub to pub. They just go with the discs and maybe do four sesions a night. The pubs are allready set up with disc players, amps and speakers and away they go |
