I have been itching to upgrade SOMETHING for a while now (I always am), but kept searching craigslist for the perfect deal. Well, I found it!

I upgraded my Yamaha MG16/6FX mixer and Yamaha P5000S amp with a Mackie 1642 VLZ Pro board and QSC PLX1804 amp (to power my EV sx300s).

I got the Mackie mixer and QSC amp off a guy upgrading his recording studio for $500.00. Very lightly used and cared for.

That's good shopping!!

Tonight's the first night with the new goodies!!

You should be able to notice a pretty big difference in the quality. I have the same mixer and was 10 times better sounding than even my CFX12.

It did sound great. I even didn't have the proper cables to keep my Driverack PA in the signal chain, and it still sounded great. I should have the cables to put the Driverack PA back in today, and look forward to an even better Saturday show!

Congrats on your purchase! That was indeed a good deal.

I'm working on a kind of upgrade too at the moment. When I test drive it and it works out, I'll let you guys know. (Hint: iPad) lol
