I just got some new karaoke songs, but they are CDG's. I can't seem to get the lyrics up on the screen. I'm using Karma software it will send the music over but not the lyrics. Is there any software that will convert the CDG to mp3 plug g?

Have you played CDG's in that system before?

Not all computer drives are capable of reading the information on a CDG disc, and instead treat the CDG disc like a traditional audio CD.. and that's what it sounds like you're experiencing.

http://www.kjtools.com/CDGRip.html

Use this, if it doesn't work, your CD/DVD drive is not cdg compatible.

Super CDG is a dvd based disc that contains mp3g files within. A cdg is a regular cd that contains an underlying 'subcode' that contains the graphics which you need a cdg compatible drive in order to read them and a program that will also read them. I do not believe Karma has that ability, but with the software I linked to above, you should be able to rip the disc to an mp3g file to play in Karma. Again provided the computer drive is cdg compatible.

Ok I guess it's my cd/dvd drive not reading the cd's. Does anyone know what cd/dvd I can buy that will read these cd's?

I'm assuming you did what Lonman suggested and tried ripping a track with CDGRIP? If so, did CDGRIP indicate that the subcode was not read?
If both of the above are true, then yes, you'll need a different drive. CDGRIP supports just about all of the newer drives (except the ones that physically cannot access the subcode), I have always recommended Plextor, but they're getting difficult to find. I know that most if not all LiteOn drives work fine.

Good Luck,

You need a converter from www.roxbox.net to convert the Super cdg to mp3+g.

So you downloaded the software I linked to and tried to rip the disc?
