Lately I've noticed a lot of interest in Lady Antebellum and Black Eyed Pea songs. It's so nice to hear some newer duets being sung. I'm so tired of the old stand by duets ( Sonny and Cher etc...) I'm hoping Lady Antebellum songs become as popular as some of the other oldies duets.
What other newer songs are being sung for you guys?

Miranda Lambert: Sin for a Sin, Only Prettier, Airstream Song
Little Big Town: Little White Church
Jarod & the long road to love: I Pray For You
That other guy that sings that other song called Lover, Lover (love that one)
Lady Gaga stuff
My place is a bit stuck in the past- there's a few regulars that keep up with new stuff, but we don't hear many duets. Sadly, when we do, it's usually "Picture".

We are in a country area: Second the Little White Church and also Boondocks by Little Big Town.
Anything Zac Brown
Lady Antebellum had a flush but no one can seem to remember the tune to the newest one so it isn't getting done. American Honey has been done a few times.
No Lady Gaga for us unless I do it and there are only two of hers with words in them that I will allow to come out of my mouth. I just got a rousing response to Katy Perry's "California Girls" which surprised me but I camped it up alot.
I like doing Shakira's "Waka Waka" --it's a definite foot tapper.
We had requests for weeks for Billy Currington's "I'm Pretty Good At Drinking Beer" but now that we have it, it has only been done once.
I like "What songs are being sung" threads.

We get most of our newer requests from the women at our show. We are also getting the Lady Antebellum requests. The newest duet we're getting sung is "Who Say's You Can't Go Home". We've also recently been getting requests for "remakes", like Rose Garden by Martina McBride, and Landslide by the Dixie Chicks. Another new one is Gunpowder and Lead, by Miranda Lambert. Most of the guys stick with the classic rock, or country. Except for ME, of course, I'm ALL OVER the place. From crooners, to classic rock and country, to new country, 80's rock, soul and R&B, WHATEVER. My (girlfriend) co-host has the voice of the 50's and 60's "girl groups", so she gets the crowd going with some of that, as well as some EARLY Madonna.

I'm already just as sick of Lady Antebellum as I am of Kid Rock & Cheryl Crow's song Picture.
Get several women who want to sing that song.. and they often ask me to sing it with them, and I refuse.
Zac Brown Band 'Toes' and 'Chicken Fried' were popular requests when they first came out.. but the've not been sung in probably a few months.
Miranda Lambert's Gunpowder & Lead is one that frequently gets requested, but as a general rule.. not a lot of 'new' stuff (within the last year or so) gets requested.
I was happy to see 'Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer' to come out on Chartbusters August I think it was disc.. but i'm the only one who's sung it.

Lots love: Lady Gaga: Alejandro, Telephone, Bad Romance.
Katy Perry: California Gurls and (still) Hot'n'Cold
Miranda L: Gun Powder & Lead (this is an old song relatively)
Lady Antebellum: Any of their stuff, including American Honey
Little White Church - someone brings this in and does it.
Pearl Jam: Just Breathe
Will pay attention next show so I can ad more to this.
Funny Leopard: I have Waka Waka by Shakira - only got it because we have a great zumba routine we do to it - I will sing, others will dance. It's a blast! What version do you have? I have to bluff my way through the African part of it. But it is a great piece for sure. I got mine through Selectatrack. Yours?

I get a couple Lady Gaga sung, Lady Antebellum is pretty popular - especially what I consider the NEW "Picture" of duets - Need You Now. This song is going to end up in the Oh no not again catagory. It's close now.
The new Alice in Chains is still pretty popular. Other than those few, I get new songs sung on occasion, but nothing that really sticks in my mind as a regular yet.

My Waka Waka is SBI through Selectatrack. Yes--they blew the Zulu Rap bit in the middle (yes I know, chorus is Fang and not Zulu but supposedly the rap bit is Zulu). I looked up what I hope are the correct words on the internet and memorized it although I think I still don't have the last line correct.
Shakira songs are good for building up breath control--especially if you try to dance around while singing them.
Would also like to do "Gypsy Boots" by Terri Clark but I don't have the vocal tools to bring that one off. Yet. Also am looking at "Wildflower" by the JaneDear Girls but it is looking like it could be annoying in the wrong hands. As in mine.
"If I Die Young" by the Band Perry and Miranda Lambert's "House that Built Me" are very popular on the radio but no one has attempted to sing them yet.
Funny but the first thing I thought when I heard "Need You Now," was oh no--it is sort of dreary--I hope it doesn't become the next "Picture." I like "I Run To You," better.

Gonna listen to the rap part and get it down. It is a very inspirational piece. What a coincidence that you have it too!

We only allow once a night, so it's a race among the women for these songs:
Little White Church - Little Big Town
Need You Now and American Honey- Lady Antebellum
The House That Built Me and White Liar - Miranda Lambert
The men pretty much only race for In Color (still).

I forgot about Lady A. She's real popular.
Miranda Lambert? I'm going to give a listen to her songs. I haven't heard any of them.

Do you seriously mean you haven't had Kerosene and Gunpowder & Lead sung at your show? Chicago really *is* the big city!

I thought Miranda Lambert would be a gimme and got almost all of her songs in. So far none have been done but I just had one request for "White Liar" which is the only one that I don't have in yet. And we are country territory--they seem to have gotten stuck on Gretchen Wilson for the rowdy country female category.

I don't consider Miranda Lambert really new, but House That Built Me & White Liar actually do get sung quite a bit. I have to replace White Liar, Sunfly version sorry to say sucks! But they were they only ones that had it when it first hit.

How often do y'all get Come What May (McGreggor & Kidman from Moulin Rouge)? That's the duet my wife and I sing whenever we go out, but we haven't heard anyone else sing it, for some reason. It just seems like it'd be popular, since the movie had sort of a cult following. Hrm...

I had it sung once. I don't have musicals sung very often though.

Never sung nor requested (Come What May), like Babs, rarely have musical/broadway songs sung.
