For those of you in search of a good compact mixer, this one has a USB audio card built in which that alone is worth about $100 and also comes with Sonar LE which again is worth about $100, I'd say it's a pretty good deal  Note that the Zed 10FX with built in fx is $50 more :D

Why would anyone want to buy a Behringer

I just received mine (zed 10fx) and am very pleased. Got a great deal on it and love A&H. I also have the zed12 and though I miss the faders... this little guy is just fine for a second rig.

Can USB audio from laptop be routed to a channel strip so that you can adjust EQ? It looks like a great little mixer. Any sync problems with graphics when using as a USB card? Have you tried recording?

Don't know about the A & H as far as sync problems, but my Lexicon Alpha does not have any and can be plugged into a channel via balanced 1/4" plugs. It records well as too - but I haven't tried it for karaoke recording yet, just home goofing around.
But I suspect the A&H would be good for both playback & recording.

I have Zed 12fx and love it. The only drawback is that it's tall. It won't fit in to a standard rack. You have to get a deeper than normal rack to fit it in.

I use USB out from laptop and never noticed any issues. The volume is routed to a channel but doesn't change using the slide, only via gain knob. I haven't figured out if there another way but since it worked, I left it alone. I use the MTU Hoster and never had lag or issues at all and my laptop is not the top of the line, more likely bottom 25% when it comes to processor but I do have 4GB of memory.
