So, I just clicked on the ad at the top right of the screen for the online sing-along which I'm pretty jealous of this site for hosting as I'm sure they're making a killing off of the ad. Anyway... It seems to me this may be a legal way to host a show without having to have ANY music. You would have to be online of course, and if the server went down you'd be pretty much screwed BUT could it be a viable option someday? The bars pay ASCAP and BMI for the right to play the songs in public and if you don't own them how can you be audited? Any thoughts on this one?

Not sure of the jealosy factor, remember this forum is an extention of a Karaoke Scene Magazine.

I personally wouldn't want to rely on an internet connection for a show. Too unreliable. Plus you would be locked into shows that have internet only - unless you subscribe to an air card service. And I am willing to bet the TOS of the streaming is not for commercial use.
