I am hoping to get some ideas for holidays this year. My hubby uses his travel points credit card to buy all the stock for his store, so every year we get a free (or extremely low cost) vacation out of it. We must always wait until after the Christmas holidays because that is when the most sales happen and he racks up the most points, so we plan for February or March, though it's never set in stone.
We really don't know what our exact budget is, of course, until after the Christmas season, but is onthe lower side. If we can find something for around $500 per person, that would be awesome. Realistically, I think our top end might be $800/pp.
We always take our daughter, who's 7 now, and we like to go to sunny warm places with beaches because living in Canada, well, it's COLD!
Place we have gone in the past were Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (LOVED it!), Cancun, Mexico (notsomuch), and Disneyland, California (was a lot of fun!).
The airline gateway we use would be Calgary. We would also consider Spokane, Washington and Kalispell, Montana, if the price is good enough.
We prefer all-inclusives, but Disneyland, of course, wasn't, and meals must be factored into our budget.
Does anyone have any ideas for a cheap, getaway for at least 7 nights?
Even though we use points, we are still on a limited budget, so cost is a huge factor in it.
How about ideas for the best online booking agency?
One year we used bookit.com, another we used expedia. Are there any others that give good prices to Canadians?
Some sites are amazing, but don't cater to Canadians, so that's a bit of an issue sometimes.
