Post subject:  Hard Drive Media Player for Karaoke?

Hi,

I have a 1TB hard drive filled with songs.

Is there a Media Player I can buy that will play these so I can hook it up to my AMP/Mixer and make it a portable Karaoke jukebox?

Western Digital and Seagate has these Media Player but will it work?

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks
Tim

I doubt anyone here will help you because we as a group don't believe in illegal content. If you have a TB of songs, common sense says you didn't buy them legally.

I think you are going to be on your own.

Assuming an average size for each song file, what you have on that 1TB drive is about $24,000 in bare-minimum licensing fees, excluding any cost of song production, packaging, shipping, promotion, marketing, et cetera.

However, if you will send me your name and address in a private message, I'll be more than happy to hook you up with a free player for your troubles.

I bought the hard drive in Vietnam with all vietnamese songs.

It plays in VLC.

It only has around 1,500 songs tho. Filled up the entire hard drive.

I don't know what the legal issues are for foreign songs?

Aha, "songs" is not always "songs".

Haven't a clue about "VLC". What format are the files?

VLC players(program for computers) play just about every file type there is....as well as cdgs, cds, dvds.......don't know if there are any small tech units that play so many different formats directly from an external hard drive, but I could be wrong....there are a lot of free vcl programs out there......Chartbuster make any of those 1500 Nam songs?.......if you got them for free, you might put us all out of business......dayum......sure do get a lot of requests for da Nam tracks.....specially "chitty chitty chang chang" & " I chink I Yuv U"....

I will check on them and get back to you guys.

I haven't hook up the hard drive so I don't know. I am assuming a format that allows for vocal on and off

Well, he mentioned the WD media players, and I don't know anything that compact & inexpensive, that plays mp3+ gs. without a computer.....actually he said they play in vlc, which isn't a format, but a program for a computer......anyway, don't be such a Republican, and actually list some compact, stand alone mp3g players or there websites......I need an education.........I have a 203g, but I had to change format to cavs for them to work right....don't even use it....it's also quite a bit larger than WD media players, and thrice the cost.....also the HD that you use for the 203g must be formatted in Fat32
