OK, I made it to 52 seconds into it, and shut it off.. DEFINITELY NOT my type of music. Besides it was hard to watch, too dark and jumpy, reminded me of the "Blair Witch Project". Had to shut that one off too. Just telling ya how I reacted to it.

The continual flashing lights were pretty distracting. I love lights but used sparingly.

Wow, harsh crowd. My thoughts: The PA sounds pretty good. I mean hard to tell from a camcorder recording but I can hear everything and nothing seemed glaring. Mix was appropriate as well, good levels. I do hear some verb in there, not sure if it's room reflections or from the PA (sure sounds like the PA) but it sounds right either way from the recording position so I'm not sure why someone before was complaining about a dry mic.

I do agree with Lonman though your lighting needs help IMHO. Great if it were dance floor lighting but if you're going to light the singing area you need two things. First, no colors that light the singers so you can see their faces and then a smoother more coordinated or solid color wash behind them. You've kinda got the typical DJ light show going there, not really appropriate for a live performance situation like Karaoke.

One question for you, are you compressing your main mix?

First thing that caught my attention was that you had to point out that you don't give a F&%K whether or not your audience likes what you are about to sing.

Great Attitude!!! Glad you don't do any shows by me. I was not impressed at all with your............screaming?

That WASN'T YOU singing Liquiddye, correct?

I thought the sound was very good..but the screaming-song was hard to take. I'm happy songs like that aren't done at my show. Maybe a geographical thing.

I have the same problem at one of my venues. Directly overhead fixed dj lighting for the non-karaoke nights. It IS hard to see the singers, but sometimes that may be a good thing.

It looks to me like this is a smaller karaoke venue holding maybe 60 people max, so a song like that would make me wanna go outside! Maybe it's larger..hard to tell.

Hey Liquid Dye thanks for sharing your video. Not my kind of song, but I could tell when you weren't doing the screaming parts that you have a good voice. I'd love to hear you do something a bit more mellow some time -- best of luck.

Strange, my first thought was I wish that singer was at my show... We have a few metal/rock fans in my audience, and he would go down a storm with them, and it would be a great contrast with the Elvis/Summer Nights etc we hear week in week out.

good voice when singer wasn't screaming

looked like LED panel on top, pointed toward audience? Better to put in front of stage pointed back at singer, like a spotlight

It was just my opinion.....I thought it sounded dry, when he wasn't screaming(I thought the effects were good during the screaming).....and yes the singer was very good, if you like that kind of music......I'm used to it, since I watch the UFC every chance I get.....didn't look like a gig that pays $150/hr though....which is again....just my opinion.....

From looking in the mirror it didnt look like there was much of a crowd there. And the guy walking across right in front of the singer and the stage didnt look the least bit interested in the guy singing.

www.facebook.com

A great social networking site - kind of like MySpace only better IMO. I use it for business to let all my singers know what's going on, new music, events, pics, videos, etc.
Most use it for friends/family contacts.

Lonman - do you find that most of your singers have a FB account already? I've been debating on using FB versus an email distribution list. Everyone has email nowadays, but not everyone has an FB account, and I would hate to make one of my singers create a FB account just to follow my shows.
