The only compilation I could find is on Sweet Georgia Brown (SGB09). Just wanted to know if anyone has this and if it's any good. Thanks.

I'm not really an expert on Alice Cooper, but I think the Sweet Georgia Brown set are at least actually useable enough to leave in my book and you can't beat the price. Now their jazz standards -- fuhhhgetttttttaboutit.

Somebody gave that one (ALice Cooper) to me because they thought it was terrible, I listened to it and had to agree.

My opinion only:

I'm a huge Cooper fan, and own the SGB disc. I'm sad to say that it's a disappointment. Some of the tunes don't parallel the original releases very well. For instance, "Generation Landslide" is missing half of the last verse. ("No one is annoyed about prom night or football...")

The recordings themselves aren't too bad, but not all of the lyric wipes are synchronized very well.

Kind of a shame, as Coop has some terrific songs.

Why hasn't Chartbuster re-done them if you're such a big fan?

We don't have the luxury of producing what we want to produce. The market must be present to offset the cost of production. Unless the market is there, it doesn't make good business sense to produce it.

I wish I could say that Cooper was popular enough to support re-recording these, but that's not the case in the current environment.

All well and good but if I owned a karaoke company, I'd have every Springsteen song made into karaoke format. LOL

And I'd wish you well. The Boss is a great songwriter.

It's too bad because Alice Cooper is a rock legend. A true genius who's music should be re-released and made available. There are not too many artists that can fill his shoes.
