The bar I host karaoke on TUESDAYS is having a fund raiser next THURSDAY and they asked me to DJ with limited karaoke singers. The cause is amazing , it's for a US Army Vet who lost ..BOTH LEGS and BOTH ARMS in Iraqi and survived.

They are having a COYOTE UGLY type night with all the barmaids present and dancing on the bar with the proceeds from drink specials, 50/50's and donations going direct to the "cause" The night is looking to be non stop rock n roll and UPBEAT MUSIC with some of the barmaids singing songs "karaoke style" while dancing on the bar. Take a minute and read about this special brave man.

Don't hesitate to offer suggestions for some great bar top dancing music !!!

Just a word to the wise.

I have a friend who was similarly injured in Afghanistan. Injured vets receive substancial help and compensation from the government an other auxillary programs these days, and rightfully so. My friend refused all fundraisers on his behalf due to the extensive support he was offered by the government, including 75% of his salary for life, free medical care, full benefits for life, and tuition assistance for his children. He instead asked that all monies go to the Wounded Warrior Project that funds many of these programs.

I would make sure that this fundraiser is earmarked for a similar program or college fund trust, etc., instead of going straight to the individual.

FYI, my friend refused an honorable discharge with all of the free benefits listed above, and still works for the Army as a classroom trainer. He's quite the inspiration to all who know his story!

Check http://www.popculturemadness.com/Music/index.html There are playlists for a number of different themes. Scroll down a bit and you'll find a long list of topics on the right. I don't think they have "Bar Top Dancing" as a theme but "Girls' Night Out" has some good bar dancing songs.

I myself also served in the military for 22 years. Being Veterans Day tomorrow, I would like to post a moving quote I read online from an anonymous soldier and I think it's appropriate to post it here.

"A military veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including my life'. Willing to die for flag & country – that’s courage & honor & there are too many people in this country who no longer understand it".

On this Veterans Day, honor our nation's veterans who served and are serving to protect our freedom.

I have a new admiration for vets after being presented with the American flag from my Dad's casket. The young men who folded the flag were mesmerizing in the methodical manner in which they folded the flag and prepared it for me.

Can never give enough respect to these guys that sacrificed so much for our taken for granted freedom.

Having just watched a film about John Kipling, Rudyards son.
I condemn the British for their bloody arrogance in wartime.
Oooh... I'm british.

What time do we go over the top sir.
