Hi All, I'm in the market for a wireless headset mic, not for karaoke, but I'm also a professional magician. For years I have used a wireless hand held with a gim crack holder. Now I'm looking for a good headset that won't make me look like a Bobby Brown/Garth Brooks wannabe...lol

I'm not quite ready to sink a grand into a Countryman or DPA + body pack and receiver....just yet. I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with, heard anything (good or bad) about this wireless system: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Audio-Techn ... 1545293.gc

If so, please let me know.
Thanks so much,

Brian

Fairly decent is where I would put them. The mic itself is not my favorite, but it will do an adequate job. The rest of the rig is mid-range A/T and probably won't let you down. A little better suited for speech than vocal performances but I don't think it'd let you down in either case. I've used them for a musical we produced at a festival this summer, they did alright. Certainly for the money they'd serve you well. Only thing I can't really comment on is the longevity (although A/T Lav's are pretty common and the 2000 series uses basically the same architecture.

I bought the model ATW-2192 now discontinued, superseded by the newer model ATW-2192A. I don’t like it. A little drop-out here & there. Not a lot. It’s mediocre at best, and more susceptible to feedback. I don’t know about the newer one ATW-2192A if there’s an improvement.

I returned it after couple of weeks, replaced it with a Countryman E6 with Shure ULXP Receiver. ($800 on sale).

I love this headset. It’s comfortable & nearly invisible. I can shape it the way I want to fit my head perfectly. So lightweight I forget I’m wearing it. Voice pick-up is very good. Plus, I can hug the ladies left or right side without taking the headset off.

If you decide on a Countryman, don’t get the omni model. Get the directional. It has more gain before feedback.

Tony and Brian A, Thank you both for giving me some insight. After mulling it over, I think I may get the Electro Voice RE2 UHF Headset System. E V has always served me well in the past, so I think I'll be much happier with this than the Audio Technica model.

Thanks again, guys! :)
