I got two coupons via email from Guitar Center, one was only good today, the other only good for tomorrow and Sunday so I'm picking up the second one tomorrow. The second coupon is only for 10% (first was 15), but I'm still saving a hundred bucks for the pair.
I was looking for a small powered speaker because I have a small car, and I wanted to cut down my number of trips from car to bar and car to house.
I have it pumping right now, tight bass. Can't wait to crank them next week!

Can't remember if I posted but I got the deal of a lifetime about 2 months ago on 2 qsc 10in and k-sub plus stands and misc xlr cords for a thousand bucks. System was less than 6 months old and looked new.
I am very happy with the purchase and use this system exclusively at smaller venues. Great sound and very lightweight. The sub is probably the only downside. It doesn't have a lot of thump but def good nough for karaoke. :)

We use them with a pair of QSC HPR181i for our small setups. They are really nice.

When we do small places under 50 or so people a K-Sub is a nice match.

So I was a little upset that I was standing there with cash in hand and Guitar Center wouldn't save me the trip the next day by honoring my coupon. I was thinking to myself, "I miss those days when I could bargain at the music store, wait a sec, there's still a couple of those stores in town".
I called one, told him the deal, and he beat Guitar Center's price by charging me $715 after tax. I actually felt bad and asked him if he was going to make any profit, "A little". It's being ordered so I won't have it for my shows this week, but it's worth the wait.
I picked up a cable and some guitar strings that came to $21. I handed him a 20 and a 1. He hands me the 1 back, then opens the drawer and hands me a 10 back. "That's appreciation for your business".
WOW!
I know where I'm spending my money now. And all this just happened to be on small business Saturday.

Are you for real?

EDIT:
Even being 1db less than the SB112
I am good for a large venue with 300+ people.

I have to say that at 19 lbs each, I am extremely happy with the pair of EV ZXA1s I just purchaced. Sure I have to boost the Bass a bit from the mixer, but they handle it very well. These are perfect for the typical small karaoke venue. Larger venues will require a sub or two.

So for small venues, those who are thinking might want to check them out before you buy something else. I was also lucky enough to save $145 along with free shipping.
