Hi there ,

Me and my girlfriend enjoy having a few beers and singing soppy duets with each other of a weekend :D , or sometimes have a few people round for a sing song..

Yesterday we brought the X-factor Luckyvoice karaoke thing , cause our other karaoke machine died.

Image

We know its not the best peice of equipment you can buy , but it does the job for us and our 2 kids..

My question is if I plug a hdmi cable into the T.V from my laptop for the lyrics to show , the microphone stops working. And I was just wandering if there was a Way of connecting my laptop to my T.V while we was using the luckyvoice so the lyrics show on the laptop and the t.v. But without losing the use of the mic.

Thanks for reading and hope I make sense ....

I've seen a lot of things in my life........but I've never seen that thing......sorry
now hdmi cables are not all the same.....you have standard, high speed, high speed 3d, & more......I would say you need a high speed, class 2 cable for that thing

HDMI is a nightmare. Just plugging in a HDMI cable can potentially screw up all of the audio routing in the PC. Look on your soundcard properties. It should even have come with a program to configure what to do when you plug in an HDMI cable, where to route sound etc.

Go into your control panel (Vista and 7) and choose "Hardware and Sound". In there you *may* find an icon labelled some kind of audio manager. It's there for VIA and Realtek HD audio. It can be used for your PC's sound routing. Sorry I can't help you with specifics, as that depends on your hardware configuration. Play with the settings and see what you can do.
