Hello,

I'm new to this forum (hence the post on the Newbies board). I'm just a karaoke enthusiast like many others on here--not a KJ and/or professional singer. I joined this forum to learn more about how to increase my home karaoke collection, as I am also in the process of exploring the best option for hosting home karaoke parties. I am reading more and more about laptop systems, and I've seen a few of these in karaoke clubs. It looks much better than disc-based systems and easier to update than the CAVS jukebox systems I've seen.

So . . . greetings from Maryland. I am looking forward to learning more from the experts in this group. Thank you for making group membership open to newbies like me.

New here too as of 1 hour ago. Looking to pick the brains of some of you more seasoned and up to date people as going to laptop if possible. I have just made the following post and would be great for some pointers
"I treated myself last year to a KAM KDG600 mainly for home use and taking to friends but finding it more and more of a chore than a pleasure as its like packing for your summer holidays especially when you have hundreds of CD's. Therefore I am making the big move towards a laptop but want to ensure I get the specification right and don't comprimise on the qualty I have at the moment.
My main needs are to run PCDJVJ v5, have an external display but also have some control of the sound ie reverb, echo etc. Can anyone help on a laptop specification ideally Dell to be honest."
