I treated myself last year to a KAM KDG600 mainly for home use and taking to friends but finding it more and more of a chore than a pleasure as its like packing for your summer holidays especially when you have hundreds of CD's. Therefore I am making the big move towards a laptop but want to ensure I get the specification right and don't comprimise on the qualty I have at the moment. My main needs are to run PCDJVJ v5, have an external display but also have some control of the sound ie reverb, echo etc. Can anyone help on a laptop specification ideally Dell to be honest. |

Most new computers come with Win7, but I think it has to be run on only xp or vista. It has a min req of 250mg of Ram, but I'd go with .5 or more.....as far as vocal effects you should use a seperate mixer with effects, at least that's what I would do |

You using the PCDJ because you already have it? Otherwise there are much better karaoke software out there. |

Separate mixer sounds good, do you have a spec or something in mind. Worried about it coming out flat but also looking for a surround sound so might be able to output the sound through that. Thanks |

Yep already have a registered copy of the PCDJ software so didn't want to buy for the sake of it. Not used it yet but does it have any control over the sound output or mic inputs? The Kam unit has always been good for that |
