barndance? wth is a barndance?

I ran a show for some seniors the other day. Presentation ceremony for a EUCHRE tournament.

halfway through they wanted me to play some barndance music - I had no idea what they were talking about. they suggested some waltzes - so I did That's amore, que sera, how much is that doggie, etc.

And they did some dance in a circle where they swapped partners etc.

Any other song suggestions for the next time that happens?

Scotish, Celtic or Folk I rekon.....I'd give em cotton-eyed joe..... :) here's a web page that might help.......it'd have to pay good money, or I'd run like he!!... :lol: need to do some calling out too, like in square dancing....

When I think of barndance I think of fiddle music. Hoedown type stuff.

Barn Dance = Square Dance (at least in my experience).

Now a barn dance can be something a bit different from location to location.....and Vic is from Australia if I'm not mistaken.......I suspect he's actually Captain Feathersword....... :lol:

This isn't quite the kind of Barndance music I thought they were asking for.

They asked me to play waltzes for goodness sake!
