I have an old vocopro da2808ve.

My old wireless mics died and so I just bought wired ev n/d767a wired mics.

Is the below xlr female to balanced 1/4" cable the right way to connect my microphones to my mixer for best sound? I'm afraid xlr cables provide power so 1/4" won't power my mics (don't know anything about cables)

Also, I know my new mics are really nice. Should I be getting a nicer mixer to go with those nice mics in order to maximize their potential? I don't know how nice my current mixer is cause I bought it ages ago. It only has a rca out though to my sound reciever so I do wonder if I can do better.

Thanks.

The mic. is a good one.
It does not indicate if the Voco pro takes a balanced jack input.
If it does the cable you link to is good.

The mixer did not say anything about accepting balanced connections.
You don't want a TRS 1/4" (looks like a stereo headphone plug). You just want a 1/4" end (TS).

Thanks a lot guys. I don't know if it takes balanced or unbalanced cables. I realize I used unbalanced with my old mics.

I'll check with a sales rep for the karaoke system. Good to know I had the wrong cables before. Thanks.

Do you guys think I should upgrade the mixer too or is my mixer a good one (or does that depend on the unbalanced versus balanced cable thing)?

Your current mixer does not take balanced as far as I can see.

If it were me personally, i'd replace the VocoPro with a Yamaha or Mackie because I know what the sound quality is going to be. But if it works & sounds fine to your ears, then stay with it. It's just for home use correct?

The salesman said it takes balanced (don't know for sure if they are right though - they've been wrong before). I'm using unbalanced wires right now.

I've decided to buy a new mixer anyway cause I want one I can use for studio use as well with my guitar and keyboard. Will give my old one to my sister and get her some cheap microphones as well. She has crap speakers so I assume it doesn't matter if she uses balanced or unbalanced wires. But it still nags at me whether that is a quality mixer or not. Oh well, guess it doesn't matter.

Thanks a lot for your help.
