A fellow kj ask me the other night to give him a heads up if I come across Eagles SC8125 on ebay. I told him why pay outrageous amount of money when he can get all 15 sc tracks for approx $75.00 at http://www.mykaraokecdg.com.au/customer/home.php He emailed me last night saying I was right about all 15 songs available as custom made to order cd. I just hope they're the actual 8125 tracks with no modifications whatsoever. If it is, then probably time for me to replace my orig with pinholes. |

With all due respect, Cue. Zoom version is good - but not as good as 8125 imho. |

The only song that's every been requested off this disc for me in 12 years has been Hotel California, it's not worth paying more than $20 |

I have at least 6 songs off this disc (8125) done regularly. Would never spend the $200+ I seen it go for on ebay but $75 would be worth it to mimic the original (provided I didn't already have it) - I will probably order another for backup, I could get away with just the 6 regular songs, but would rather have the entire selection. Like the 8148, this is a must have in my shows, almost every song is done at least once a week. I already have a replacement custom for that one on order for backup. |

It may be better but we all have many songs that can be improved by other verisons, as KJs we cant possibly invest the time and money to find, by and form an opinion on what is the best version of every song in our book. (and even then opinions of the best version of a song may differ) The 8125 disk may be better than zoom but practically no KJs out there cant make many more improvements in sound quality for the $200+ price difference to many more songs on their books. Face it we all want 8125 to brag that we own one to our KJ friends or other serious karaoke junkies. Any other reason is just fooling ourselves, any difference in music quality is not enough to spend $200 unless we are a "Eagles only" karaoke show. The custom disk with the same songs might work for other less famous disk numbers but we want this one original (and 8148 too). Anyone got one for sale for less than $120, Im still shopping. |

You mean I can get $200 for my SC8125? I only paid $35 for it five years ago. I have all those songs and more on Backstage! |

The zoom eagles disc is great. I've filled out my eagle songs with the backstage songs not on the zoom disc. I'm in this to make money. |

I have all those songs and more on Backstage! I seriously doubt now that it available on their custom site that it's going to be worth anywhere near that anymore. Where did you pay $35 for it 5 years ago? It's been out of print and in HIGH dollar status since 96. The Backstage versions aren't that good in comparison. It has a couple that are ok, but the SC versions are by far the better versions - even over Zoom. |

Why would I give a rip about having an original 8125 or 8148 when I can get a true custom from SC website? I could care less about the disc, I want the music and if I can now get it now from SC customs (same versions) for $75 after it being out of print for so many years, why not jump on it as opposed to paying $200 or more (which I doubt it's going to be worth that much anymore now that custom is available). Don't understand the reasoning about this disc versus a 'less famous' disc needing to be original? I know I could care less anyway, the customs are just as good and still come from SC. |

Frankly, it isn't always what I think about the quality - it is what the singers think about the quality and 99 percent of them don't give a rat's axx. |

Incidentally, the turnaround in ordering situation is pretty fast considering it’s coming from Australia. I ordered two cd's Jan 6; both arrived today, Jan 18. Only 12 days. |

People want (or KJs) something they can't get easy just to have it. That is why the demand for 8125 is higher than the custom disk. In any case it is the original. People pay thousands of dollars for first edition books that are still in print and selling on the discount isle at any bookstore for later editions. As KJs we collect cds of karaoke, and we all want that one that we can't have. It is scarce, there is a demand. The demand has fallen since the customs came back, but at least the 8125 and 8148 will sell for more than the cost of the customs with the same songs, for some time. Maybe not $100 more but at least 10-20 more than the price of the equivalent custom. Many if not most expensive things are expensive not because they are better but because they are rare. |

Exactly why I said I have it on order as a custom rather than trying to find the original that would cost much more - until people realize it's they do not have to spend the $200 + to get the same songs. |

As a kj, it's about the music not about if it's the original pressing. If a kj is going to be stupid enough to demand an original print over a legally authorized custom, then so be it. Not a wise business decision. As a business person, if I have the same music on an original or an authorized custom, the only one that would know the difference is me, it's not about me, it's about the music. So again I believe you are wrong in your assessment that every kj would rather have the original pressing over an authorized custom - at least I am not one of them. |

Lonman, Your opinion is just that, an opinion. And I respect it, However in addition to hosting shows I collect disc's. Call it a hobby I suppose. Some of us have other reasons for collecting discs other than playing them. To me they are similar in fashion to coins, baseball cards or comics. They are a collectible. Some like to collect them for the sake of having a "complete set". Others are not concerned with collecting and own disc solely for playing at their shows. To each his own |

I guess I take offense at being called stupid beacuse I don't collect discs for the same reason as you. I prefer a short hair cut. I don't think all those with long hair are stupid. We all have varying reasons for doing what we do. We aren't all stupid for having a different opinion. Ok enough ranting, and Lonman, no disrespect intended, just showing you an alternate viewpoint. |
