I have a rackmount computer right now, and with it remote control software for my Lexicon MX400, my Presonus StudioLive Mixer and of course my CompuHost running on it. Presonus just released a native iPad app to take control of the mixer via the Rackmount computer.

So tonight I will try to just place my rack in a corner somewhere, use my dedicated Wireless microphone and iPad and just sit in the audience somewhere to run the show!
I have a VNC client on the iPad so I can work Compuhost and the effects on my computer and the iPad app for the Mixer.

Really would like to see people's faces when they find me sitting somewhere in the audience...

And of course it gives me a better shot at mixing the sound, sitting in front of the speakers.

Can you control lighting that way as well?

You could, but I do not use any lightning. I have enough to set up as it is.
But yes, there are iPad apps out there for DMX. (Was it DMX? not sure... )

Make sure you are close enough to whisk the drunks off the stage, !
