This poll is only Paul McCartney songs, not Beatles songs, so it's anything he's done after his Beatles career was over. This might include songs like Band on the Run, Let 'Em In, Silly Love Songs, My Love, Let Me Roll It, Don't Say Goodnight Tonight, Helen Wheels, Listen to What the Man Said, Uncle Albert Admiral Halsey (Hands across the water), No More Lonely Nights, Wonderful Christmas Time, Mull of Kintyre, Live And Let Die, Maybe I'm Amazed, Junior's Farm...others?

Very VERY rare that a Paul McCartney song will be performed. I would put down a $100 bet that half my crowd wouldn't know who Paul McCartney was.

I think I heard Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey done once. Other than that I can't remember a time I have heard it.

As for John Lennon, I hear Imagine all the time. WRT the Beatles, not that often but I do hear All My Loving, 8 Days A Week, Hey Jude, I Saw Her Standing There, and several others done occasionally.

I have never had anyone ask to hear or sing a Paul McCartney song.

Ever.

Which is fine by me, since I think Paul McCartney sucks.

I, like Lonman, would say it's a safe bet at least half of my regular crowd would have no idea who Paul McCartney was.

I do get the occasional Beatles song request.. maybe 3 or 4 times a month.

A lot of Paul McCartney songs are in a very high range and are difficult to sing for a guy with an average singing range. Maybe that's why they don't get sung very often. That's why I don't sing them anyway. I would love to sing "Maybe I'm Amazed" but I just can't hit some of those high notes. ;c(

No, I have never heard him sung at my shows.
Not even the Beatles.
Have had John's Woman and Imagine.

It is rare I get any 60's songs requested except for Elvis.

I heard someone sing Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey also. I think that it is probably a difficult song to do.


when I was at Karen's show I heard a lady sing Maybe I'm Amazed.

I put every few weeks. We have a just turned 21 year old guy who does "Band on the Run," regularly and another fellow who does "Maybe I'm Amazed." We get all Beatles done regularly and not just by older people. Some of the youngun's who just love and have studied music are really into them.

I used to work with a 30 year old and she actually did that thing where she went to England and tried to get hit by a bus taking a photo of herself crossing Abby Road. Actually, she was warned by the police that it would be carnage if she tried as many had done and failed before her. So she signed a wall nearby and says she stuck my name there, too. So I have vandalized England from afar. She had definitely heard of the Beatles and her whole family went to the site of the Cavern and did the whole tour bit. Take heart, Jerry.

And NEVER EVER bash Ringo when I'm around...........

Was just thinking it is weird that the 21 year olds wouldn't have heard of Paul McCartney or really know the Beatles. We get them sung at the Boys and Girls Club and those people aren't even in High School yet.

We have also noticed that many young people are into the Doors, Creedance, Janis etc. And we even have a 30 year old female with Elvis's face tatooed on her ankle. There seems to be a certain segment of young people who grew up knowing their music history. They play the new songs on the jukebox so I know they know them but they sing alot of retro.

Oh--I know this is specific to Paul McCartney but we also get some Travelling Wilburys done.

Not a lot - too high for most, music is more complex than most other artists. My husband used to sing McCartney...I have done Maybe I'm Amazed a few times. Just not very popular, sad to say.

Sad indeed that half the crowd of your karaoke regulars don’t know who Paul McCartney was. Imagine the world of music without Paul. There would be no great songs written by him (songs not co-wrote with Lennon) such as Yesterday, And I Love Her, Let It Be, Eleanor Rigby, Penny Lane, Long & Winding Road & many others. These songs are generally memorable.

Some of our younguns’ sing Beatles songs often. I think they caught the bug last year when American Idol introduced the Beatles theme night. Also from that game console Wii Beatles RockBand, & the TV Musical Glee. Popular from the older crowd: Get Back, Come Together & I Saw Her Standing There.

I do agree he did wrote some meaningless post-Beatles songs. Silly Love Songs, Junior’s Farm, Coming Up, My Love (a lot of wo wo wo wo :lol: )They’re neither rarely exciting nor even uplifting compared to the songs mentioned above.

Paul McCartney did duets with Micheal Jackson!

Ever tried singing McCartney songs? They are NOT easy!

I will do "Silly Love song" on occasion, and it always gets big applause from the crowd (especailly when we have a "disco" set) but not that often. I have another singer that comes in and does a few McCartney songs.

Beatles not so much... but then again, I also to "Twist and Shout" and that's another crowd pleaser.

I can't remember a McCartney song being sung at any of my shows. Elton John is another rare artist. I have a very large beatles set from which Blackbird, Rocky Raccoon, and When I'm sixty four get some use.
