Just noticed this last night. "Chartbuster 6000 Media Pro" - Cant find any details yet, other than they are MP3+G's "delivered on two 32gb SD cards". http://www.chartbusterkaraoke.com/catal ... media-pro/ My apologies if this is old news. |

Danny G just mentioned it last night in another thread. I think it is a good post. Much more balanced than the GEM series, for us people in the country area. Basically includes the CB Essentials 1-10 plus some extra songs from this year and some extra artist support. Doesn't include the artists that apparently will not allow digital distribution (Neil Diamond, Sugarland -- probably due to their lawsuit, Eagles). The price is high, but I suspect they will have a "street" price quite a bit less. You can get the CB Essentials on the street for $160 a set, so $1600 buys you 4500 songs. I suspect the other 1500 can be had for $1200 or so, so an equivalent price would be $3000 (instead of their $4900). |

I am curious to know the bit rate. 64gb doesn't sound like a lot of room for 6000 songs. Haven't done the math though. |

$4,999? That is WAY too much money! You can get E1-10 (4500 songs) for $1,699 here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ALL-10-CHARTBUSTER- ... 45f4077be2 Add on a few current releases and some other must haves and you are still under $2,000. WTF CB? |

Somethings you have to ask yourself about this sale ........... 1. are they NEW 2. are they COPIES Even at wholesale price directly from Chartbuster the set will cost more than he is advertising. So my question is what are you getting? |

Even Ace Karaoke sells them for $1,999 and they are about the most expensive retailer when it comes to karaoke. |

The average essential set is selling new between $159 to $179 a set on line. Times 10 would be $1590 to $1790 for all ten. $1699 for all ten sets new is in the ball park. You'd be able to rip them at 320 and still have 3 grand for other music. It's a good idea, just wayyy overpriced. |

The big difference that everyone seems to be missing here is that these songs are all already done in digital format (no ripping required) $2000 is about the wholesale cost if you buy several sets of the Essentials which is still only 4500 songs, add in the EP sets @ 100 songs for $90 each to get to 6,000 songs so you are looking at another $1350 or $3350 + shipping and you still have to take the time to rip, zip and rename the files. |

I can rip, zip and rename 10 disks an hour. I'll spend 30 hours to save $3,000 for sure. |

You must have a heck of a setup! I rip at 4X or lower (for quality) and I type with two fingers so naming is not a rapid process for me, zipping is not a real big deal but the overall result is about 20 hours to rip 100 disc so that would be 160 disc to rip @ at least 30 hours. The overall savings by the time you fill in the E1-E10 is going to be maybe around $1500 which is still a good amount of money. |

What I do is rip to my Rename2 folder, while it is ripping, I type in the rename2 command. When it is done, I insert the next disk. While it is loading, I cut and paste to my karaoke library folder. I don't worry about the song book until the end. I use My1stMp3 editor (free trial) at the end and it spits out an Excel file in less than 20 seconds total that has the filename (numbered) Artist and Title. I used to rip at slower speeds, but I never had a problem so I now rip at max speed. |
