Hi karaoke fans im doing im doing my first show any ideas what would be a good line
up to start with and get the crowd going its a country group and i dont no country much any
idead would be helpful thanks

Hard to say what will go over in a country crowd. I've worked in country bars in the past where most were doing anything from ZZ Top to Metallica and nothing that could be 'construed' as country. If you didn't know any country i'd probably pick some southern rock from the 70's - maybe some 60's rock depending on age. |

I agree with lonman..I have also worked in a country bar and they were doing everything from Neil Diamond,Elvis..to...Creed...so you never know |

You mean you need a few filler songs to get the show going? I fill in at a karaoke show at a line-dancing country bar about 5-6 times a year. Throw a few of these guys at them right off the bat and you'll get a rockin start: Black Betty - Ram Rod Gimme Three Steps - Lynard Skynard Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy - Big and Rich Honky Tonk Badonkadonk – Trace Adkins What Was I Thinkin – Dierks Bentley Alchohol - Brad Paisley Keep Your Hands to Yourself - Georgia Sattellites When you get into filler throughout the night, keep in mind that your typical country music fan also really likes southern rock, classic rock, and oldies. Keep hittin em with upbeat, dancable songs in any of these genres and you'll have a great energy all night! Good luck! |

Tophers' got it right. I'd throw in All Summer Long by Kid Rock, Sold (grundy county auction) by John Michael Montgomery, some George Thorogood and more Skynyrd! For the ladies i'd play Redneck Woman, Before he Cheats, Black Horse & a Cherry Tree, and that other "party song" by Gretchen Wilson i can't think of. Classic Rock and Country crowds usually like the same music. = southern rock. |

I'd definitely throw in some Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and don't forget about ACDC. I would also suggest The Ride and You Never Even Called Me By My Name by David Allan Coe. Some of the faster Hank Williams Jr. and Charlie Daniels Band stuff is good for keeping the tempo up. |

Here are a few more current hits.. that resonate well with country crowds: Jake Owen - Eight Second Ride Jason Aldean - My Kind Of Party Zac Brown Band - Chicken Fried (Although, this is a popular one for folks to sing, too) Alan Jackson - Good Time Rodney Atkins - 15 Minutes Mike Oldfield - Crime of Passion Now if you find yourself in a crowd that's really looking to put the d!ck in Dixie and the C*nt back in Country, then the place will go nuts if you play something like Rebel Son - Redneck Piece Of White Trash twards the end of the evening. Don't forget Johnny Cash classics like: Folsom Prison Blues, Cocaine Blues, Ring of Fire, and I've Been Everywhere. YEEE HAW! |

Black Betty is by Ram Jam not Ram Rod. That is an awesome crossover tune (southern rock/country). I tell people that it is proof that white boys helped invent rap. Them & Aerosmith.

I prefer Spiderbait's version of Black Betty and then you can also do Tom Jones' version too. If you've ever heard of Southern Culture on the Skids or Reverend Horton Heat, they've got some good rockabilly songs. It's a shame that SCOTS Banana Puddin or RHH Wiggle Stick can't be made for karaoke (Sound Choice can make another Bubba's Barn disc) |

I get good results with the following songs: Boot Scootin' Boogie - Brooks & Dunn Copperhead Road - Steve Earl Dust on the Bottle - David Lee Murphy Toes - Zac Brown Band All Summer Long - Kid Rock Devil Went Down To Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band And a new one that has proven to be a crowd pleaser for the mixed country/rock bars: Country Boy - Aaron Lewis And always appropriate for a country bar: Cotton Eye Joe - Redex |
