Charmin,
First things first.....Is it a multi-track program or a single track program what you are trying to use?

To seperate the vocals from the music.. and put the effects on the vocals only you must use a multi-tracking program like Protools Free, Audacity, cooledit pro or the like. Most of the best sounding showcase productions are done by multi-tracking.

Record everything into stereo mode.. then ONLY add effects to vocals track.

If it continues fail. Try my original Idea of the "Free" version of The 8 Track version of Protools LE (it's a free Download) www.digidesign.com

Charmin I just Re-read your post..

Record Vocals sepreate from music track then do the above.. Add F/X to vocal channels only then mix. It should be a much better result. it's a good idea to record at 48000khz/16 bit or better if sound card will allow. The quality should be nice. If not leave at 44.100khz/16 bit most older onboard audio cards will only record/playback at 16 bit.

Oh, yeah, bum: I almost forgot.

I went to the link you gave me, downloaded the "Protools LE", and when I tried to install it, I couldn't.

Now, REALLY don't laugh at this : You have to have 128 MB Ram, and my "caveman style" computer is only 64.

So, I'll have to stick with CEP.

The ram is out there.. Somewhere.. it should be nice and inexpensive..
if ya can pick up some and have a tech install it. It should not cost much at all. Get the most ya can afford and the most your motherboard can hold. :wink:

Okay, guys- quit making fun of me!!! I had asked some pretty stupid questions, which made me look really ignorant. So.............after figuring the problem out on my own, I realized just how stupid they truly were. And- I KNEW IT!!!
