Some of the conversations (on different threads) about the quality of certain tracks or genres of each manu got my curiosity up "a little" and I want to do an expirement on ten 10 different brands (manus) of the Elvis song "Can't Help Falling in Love". I want to find a way to post on this site a 30 second clip of the beginning of each song label them A, B, C etc. and have each person listen to them and pick what they consider to be the best version. I think it would be rather interesting as to what the results are.

If anyone knows how I can post the songs let me know.

1 2 3 test, 1 2 3 test.... :) .....sometimes it just boils down to what version the singer is used to.....besides, I'd think I'd want to hear and see(lyrics) the whole track before I made my pick.....I think it would be a waste of time BigT.......hope I didn't steal your thunder.... :) (yeh, it's corny.....but there's a lot of corn in my state)

I don't know if that would be legal to even do. Remember karaoke.com got nailed for putting up 30 second clips of each song.
There are some sites that still have sound clips, I think that would probably be the best bets.
As for Can't Help Falling, I prefer the Pioneer version myself :)

I think I do too, but I know it as SuperCore. 8-)

Correct on the first try! Also KJ Tools, which became SuperCore- same tracks.

Lon said it right though. The "best" versions are those most popular with your singers.

That is what I was wondering about the legality of posting the whole song, didn't realize that there was a problem with posting a short clip.

Listened to the ten versions I have of that song as well as the original song and yes clearly Pioneer was not only the best but also closest to the original. The two I consider worst were the DK and MM versions, with pretty much a tie.

My Supercore set does not have the song in it, so I couldn't compare it. I have KJ Tools and it isn't even close.

Top three for me were Pioneer, Chartbuster and Sound Choice in that order, Bottom three were Monster Hits, DK and MM in that order

I take it you are one of the people who detest the pan flute...

"Can't help falling in love"... Sunfly do a version of that "in style of Andy Williams" which isn't remotely, to the extent that I'd question whether they listened to the Andy version at all. Friday afternoon job methinks.
