I've visited the cafe a half dozen times or so when I travelled for my last company. I sang there and have a few video souvenirs; including one of my late fiancé. I have some real good memories from my visits. I'm really sorry to hear this. Big Mama's gone, but retail store to stay open in new location http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2011/jul/0 ... fe-closes/ |

I can tell you the place was over run with 10-12 year old kids and adults didn't go there any longer. You can't make money on kids. I knew the place was going to close a while ago. It is just like any venue not making a profit, close of continue to lose money. The regular host was a good guy and the kids liked him. They closed it based on a business decision. The retail store is being moved to the corp offices just up the street. |

I forgot to mention that I also visited their old store (back up the raod a bit to the north); before they built the existing one. It was small, and a bit crowded, but it was still a good time. |
