I have this disk already, but if someone of you still wants it, I just stumbled over it on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Eagles-Sound-Choice ... 3f0bd37738

Thought I leave the info here =)

Didn't someone post something about being able to have a custom made of this disk with the same SC tracks created for like $75?

Ouch! $399.00 dollars
I think I paid $35.00 dollars when I bought mine right after it first came out.

Yeah, you can. But there are some people out there that actually collect disks... like me. And this is a very hard to get disk.

I got mine for $60 back when I bought it and felt lucky =)

Not me, i'd rather have the tunes and $75 is alot better price for the same songs - although I didn't even pay anywhere close to that much for my original!
I've never thought of CDG discs as a 'collectable' item.

Good luck to the seller, but the value of this disc has dropped dramatically given that many of them are on the GEM discs and all can be burnt custom from Oz. They missed the big money window of opportunity IMHO.

I disagree that the value has dropped.
You can buy new parts for a Model A car... (like the Gem series) or, you can buy a reproduction of a Model A car.... (a custom from OZ).....

Or you can own an original Model A car (like an 8125).

Guess which one has the most value to a collector?

I have several of these, and even sold a couple off for hundreds of dollars each...

What I do find interesting though is the cheerleaders that will stop using certain brands because they are "unlicensed" yet, they will continue to use an 8125 even though they know for a fact it's definitely not licensed... (But they label me a hypocrite?)

Chip, while I agree with most of your statements in the legal section of this forum (I really do!), please don't turn this into a legal thread. Thanks =)

Certainly not trying to... just a observation about the use of this collectors item.

Highly unlikely he will get $400 for that. If patient, sealed jewel of this will go for under $200. I bought mine as a collectors item but like some of my sports memorabilia, it is open. I keep it in a zip-lock bag and carry to every show to educate people about pirates, but again, my main reason for buying it was as a collectible.

Interesting point Chip. Did Zoom karaoke ever legally license their Eagles tracks? I bought one of those as an alternative to SC-8125, for price rather than any kind of noble crusade on my part...

I decline the debate as a courtesy to the OP.

Yes, Zoom did. You're welcome to ask Mr. Blackie or see if the MCPRS will confirm it, but I doubt it.

Now, If you're asking me if Zoom ever legally licensed their Eagles tracks with the Eagles, they never needed to seek such specific permission to do so. It was licensed through the MCPRS.

However, one point that no one here has ever touched on is that if a specific artist notifies MCPRS and the manufacturer that they do NOT authorize the MCPRS licensing and do NOT want their tracks reproduced, the manufacturer can NOT get licensing for it. The only thing that they can do at this point is go direct to the writer/artist for negotiated licensing.

Eagles could have prevented Zoom from producing their music as well, I'll bet you a donut they just didn't know they could.

Read the MCPRS rules and licensing agreement, it's all in there.

I wonder what Rick would give you for it at the Gold and Silver in LV? $5.00 if you're lucky.

Strangely enough, this is one of the very VERY few discs - BS9017-that Backstage did a decent job with ( The other being Neil Diamond- and that's about it). The rest were frisbees. It has the same amount of licensing as the SC disc, and I got it for a dollar in a discount bin.. The singers are fine with it....

Might want to give it a listen...

Also, a caveat. I have read on the SOUND CHOICE forum that someone is having trouble getting product from Clark / SC in Australia ( waiting 2 months), as well as answers to any e-mails. Since one orders from the SC site rather than direct from Clark, I hazard a guess that there MAY be import problems due to the fact that it's for disty/re-sale, rather than direct.

Maybe later, if and when SC re-locates the corporate offices to AU....

Ugh, only as a last resort. I do use Get Over It & Take It Easy, but that's it - only because they do not get sung that often & not worth replacing.

No problems here. Ordered 3 discs (from Clark) in the past 3 months, all got here within 2 weeks.

Really? I have both of them BS9017 and SC8125 you found it in the dollar bin because thats where it belongs. No comparison in my opinoin. The SC disc blows it away. :2cents:
