is a ferry ride, an international border, and ninety miles from my door... but they have one of the nicest Karaoke bars I've ever attended. Friendly, talented patrons... Attentive staff and ownership... And a decent sound system. Perhaps the only drawback would be their song selection. It is lacking in several areas, but is adequate for the casual Karaoke attendee. I've visited twice now... both times on Wednesday evenings... and the atmosphere and small-town hospitality was great. They host Karaoke on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday... and I highly recommend it. |

When I attended the Toronto show last weekend the host told the audience I was from the States and they cheered and then cheered again when I told them I had a Canadian visa. Then I told them I was going to sing a Canadian song so I did Jerry Doucette and several people afterwards questioned whether he was Canadian. Not to steal the thread but has anyone done Mama Let Him Play? The first part of the song is off timing wise and it throws me every time! |

One of the first people we met was an ex-patriate Canadian who had moved to the area with a band 30-ish years ago, and decided to stay. A helluva singer, I might add. Not sure that I was given any special treatment because of being Canadian... It just seems like everyone in the place was treating, and being treated well.. It was one of those places that felt like "home" as soon as you walked through the door for the first time. As for Jerry Doucette's "Mama Let Him Play".... the song is so far out of my vocal abilities, that I'd never attempt it. |
