I'm sure the subject has been covered a bazillion times in the past... but... since new technology/programs may be available, I thought I'd pose the question again. Is there a decent program available to remove vocals from normal CD tracks, or perhaps a good tutorial to use with Adobe Audition. I've been using Adobe Audition without much success, although admittedly, I really don't know what I'm doing. There are several relatively obscure Canadian tracks that I'd like to have as CD+g, but doubt any manufacturer would ever consider producing them. |

A lot of what you are proposing will be dependent on how the original track(s) was recorded. There are some tracks you simply cannot mask the vocals. Suffice it to say that you'll have more trouble trying to mask an mp3 than you will of the original disc. |

request the songs at karaokeversion.com and then get everyone you know to vote for them and cross your fingers and wait. I've purchased dozens of tracks from that website and they sound great. Their demo singer leaves a lot to be desired but he's kind of funny to listen to. He has a very thick accent. His Neil Diamond Medley is hysterical to listen to. Good luck getting your songs made. |

Adobe Audition works better than the old hardware units, but at the root still relies on phase cancellation which will never leave you with an actual instrumental. There will always be "ghosts" and remnants of the vocals you will hear. |
