Post subject:  Karaoke CD quality?

Hi,
Just discovered this forum while searching for info on some
Karaoke CDs my girlfriend wants to buy. She got a machine
for X-mas (Voco Pro Duet) and has been buying CDs at the
local Best Buy but at $20 a pop it gets expen$ive quick.
She found this set:

http://www.karaokewh.com/item_details.c ... racking=77

I we were wondering if they are of decent quality. All she has is
Chartbuster, BCI Elcipse, and Party Tyme cd to compare.
All she does is sing for relaxation and family parties, nothing
pofessional.
Anyway Thanks for any info,
Vince

Those discs, you probably are not going to be happy with the sound or accuracy. They are ok for pro kj's to fill some gaps that can't be picked up on any other label, but you definately wouldn't want these as a main selection.

Stay with Sound Choice, Pop Hits Monthly, Chartbuster (for country). Even those you can get at Wal*Mart, K-Mart are better than the SAV series. Save your money.

Don't know your geography, but in Pennsylvania FYE (a record/video chain) is now carrying Priddis. Priddis is a pretty good label if you would rather buy in a store as opposed to online. Otherwise I'd take Lonman's word for bible.

I have many of the SAVA and P series... they're fine to fill in holes but as soon as I could, I replaced the main versions with SC...

You definately get what you pay for.

If you're looking for some great song discs, get the Dangerous series, All Hits brand, Radio Starz, and definately check out the sales on karaoke.com... you can find many of the Pop Hits Montlhly older discs for cheap. I've seen many of them on the $1, $3 and $5 sales they have right now!!!

I'll try to be diplomatic.

The Karaoke bible has many chapters. You wrote one of them and so did Matt.

How's that?

Norm :)

I agree with all the choices for cd's years ago I got Sava1 - Sava19 just cuz they had some old country which at the time was scarce I;ve since got some Sound choice with same music but still use the Savas.. used to them I guess...

But I still remember the days when we didnt have to worry about cd's or power or electricity We just had to make sure there was plenty of booze enough wood split for the night and somebody would milk the cows in the mornin' then sang every song that we knew... Sang cattle call one night and all of us got to yodeling and hollerin' and after all the cows settled down they gave chocolate milk in the mornin'...

Quick story ... I grew up with Johnny Cash Presley... during the 50's
I didnt know music till I found myself in a small bar in a port in France
An old man came in with a violin and tossed his tam on the table to collect
change he made me cry and laugh and did turkey in the straw (hummed it to him) Since that night I hardly even pay any attention which genre a song is supposed to have But that old man gave me a music lesson that changed my attitude forever Now I'm that old man and I try to pass along
some of those things which the old band members and the people that sang for the pleasure of it taught me....
