Post subject:  What a great feeling being a "host"....

I had an amazing night on Friday, when it was my pleasure to be the "karaoke host" visited by, not 1, but 2 of the members of this forum. I "really" felt honored to have Johnny Reverb, Mckyj, and their lovely wives Karen and Jeannie visit. Believe me, (speaking for myself), if you get the chance to host for other members, it's a real thrill. The way I host my show, along with my girlfriend Kiki, I don't get much time to "visit" with the guests, but it's reward enough to be their host. I can't thank you guys enough for "making my night". In addition to the other great singers that we had, they were the "icing on the cake". Again, a big "THANKS", and I (along with Kiki) hope to be able to join you guys one night when I'm not working, so we can make some other "karaoke host" feel as special as you guys made me feel.

Went up to Rosario's show in Port Washington, Wisconsin. We had a great time. Our good friends Johnny Reverb and his wife Karen were there, along with Rosario and Kiki. My cousin Steve was brought along to see if he was bitten by the karaoke bug -- alas, that seemed to not be the case. We still enjoyed visiting and staying with him, though, and wangled a multi-day invitation to return. When we do return, we'll be seeking out Rosarios show. Run very tightly, great sound (JBL, Mackie, Shure) and decent selection. We keep trying to talk Karen into singing. One of these days I feel we will have a breakthrough, but it didn't happen this time.

Karen is a video-shooting fiend, though, and i suspect you might see some clips from this trip up on Johnny's Youtube channel....

The one song my cousin Steve seemed to get into was Johnny doing Monster Mash.

A great time was had by all, and I know we will be going on more outings. I hope we can get Rip, Kuelman, and some others involved next time.

We had a blast. My wife and I will be back, as my cousin Steve has extended an invitation for us to visit multiple days next summer. Jeannie loves Lake Michigan, so you can be sure we will be back.

We might even be able to talk the Ghostbuster himself into returning...

Your gig was the holy grail I always search for in karaoke. Great sound, good selection, good singers, and an involved and enthusiastic audience. What a treat!

LOL, I almost forgot about that, Johnny REALLY had the audience in his hands with Ghostbusters. It was crazy, when I looked around, EVERYONE was chimeing in "Ghostbusters"....
Man, what a show. Thanks again, can't wait to meet up again. Kiki and I would like to make a visit (somewhere), but too much going on right now, with the move, and pneumonia, and all. We'll be sure to let you guys know when we can make it.

Both of you are very much entertainers. Two very different styles, but both very entertaining. By the way Mckyj, Kiki said thank you for singing Three Wooden Crosses, she really enjoyed it. Just to show how much weight Johnny carries, we even had one of our regulars wearing a Ghostbusters t shirt. Sorry for the thread highjack, I'll respond on my own thread, sorry Lon.

I wanted to be there but had a long drive Thursday night from Toronto and a gig on Saturday which was cancelled on Saturday morning. If I would have know it was going to be nixed, I would have been there! Maybe next time!

One of these days the dates are going to work out for all of us. I look forward to meeting up with you guys for a night of karaoke. Pretty cool all of us live somewhat close to each other. Let me know when and where the next outing is going to be.
