I don't know how it is in other regions, but in my neck of the woods Thanksgiving Eve is the biggest bar night of the year, and the traditional start of true holiday reveling.

I worked at a bar venue Thanksgiving Eve, and was lucky enough to have been invited to 3 places for Thanksgiving.

I then worked a bar Thanksgiving night, a nurses holiday party Friday from 4- 7:30, then a bar venue from 8pm- 3am.

Saturday I had a pre-wedding party during the day, and bar venue at night ( same hours).

I did a confimation party today.

I feel every bit of my age tonite, but holiday shopping will be a whole lot easier.... need a nap.

So, the point of this thread is really: How's your holiday season shaping up? Better or worse than last year?

I can say that I'm getting the bookings, but with a whole LOT less notice. Maybe people are waiting to see how much money they will have?

My Thanksgiving Eve was OK. We had 25 singers and 50 listeners (75 total...duh), but last year was packed and standing room only. Part of it could be the fact that I had a huge nights the Wednesday and Saturday before Thanksgiving Eve. For me, many times when I have 35 or more singers, I often have a slow night after that because of the long rotation times (1 1/2 hours or more). I am fortunate that many of my singers love the Oldies and most of those songs are less than 3 minutes, so I am able to average about 20 -22 songs per hour.

I have more holiday gigs lined up this year than ever before, so things are looking pretty good as far as the future is concerned.
