i just took a closer look at my GC christmas catalog, and what do i see?
Acesonic KOD-1000, it's a hard drive player ala CAVS, comes loaded with over 750 songs.....but get this......

"massive storage meets easy setup and refined capture and ripping capabilities in Acesonics KOD-1000 karaoke player. Best of all the licensed Chartbuster custom library is perfect for both home or mobile use, plus karaoke club installations."

WTF?????

at $899.00, that's only $1.20 per track and includes a 500gb hard drive and player.

WTF?????

still not as easy as using a pc. Personally I'd rather run from disc than on one of these standalone karaoke hard drive players.

Not seeing it. If you only get 750 songs, what songs are they? I'm not paying that much per song unless I get to hand pick them.

I'm not sure, but I think that Paradigm's point was that the thing comes pre-loaded with CB songs in the first place, after all the stink?

If that wasn't it, my apologies in advance...

Probably right. Waste of money if you ask me though.

That is strange. Wouldn't have thought Chartbuster would be doing anything with CAVS. But perhaps they've changed their minds with there digital library?

I can't find the exact one you describe on their site. Most of their KOD-1000s are listed as coming with some Singer's Dream songs. But there are options for adding from the CB library (like Essentials Packs) and it could be they are selling the SD cards with them as an add on?

Aha--was negligent and missed the GC and was looking on the Ace site. But odd thing is, this particular player isn't on the GC site, either. Hard to figure if they were including SD cards or what--"preloaded" sounds a bit suspicious. Unless they got a bunch of Essentials on close out or a good deal on SD cards and include them with the purchase.
