As you may know, though I have issues with SC, I have none with CB, and have several discs on order with different sources ( gotta go for the best deal ) Virtually all of my stuff from all vendors is on backorder. When I have called the different sources, they ALL say that CB has become very sporadic in their deliveries ( which used to be like clockwork, they tell me), and that there are communication problems with the company. Anyone know what's going on? I need what I ordered...

Wow. Didn't want to hear that! Just put in an order on Monday that I was hoping to get by the end of the week or early next week. Had spoken with one of there authorized dealers and he said they were running a few days behind due to there digital orders. However, I can't afford to wait weeks or months for this order.

I believe discs are what's being referred to, not digital.

UPDATE: After sking the vendors to re-check my orders, a few have come back and said that CB pretty much gave them a "Wait or cancel. we don't care" reply. WTF????
I dunno... Between delivery, communication, nd attitude problems, I'm starting to worry a little.... and I really need those discs.

While I realize we're talking about disks here, I just want to add this: A few weeks ago I got an email from Chartbuster advertising 60% off on their digital libraries. A week later I got another one stating 65% off their digital libraries, and just this week I got another at 70% off their digital libraries. SOMETHINGS going on at Chartbuster.

Yup, I'm thinking the same thing. Again, I have no issues with CB, and do not wish them ill. However, whenever I have seen ANY business act in this manner, especially the communication breakdowns with major distributors, it has always been a bad sign. I wish them well, but I'm getting a bad feeling...

Well, we all know CB well enough to know that they would have addressed it if it were something they could quickly solve. Wonder if it's a new licensing issue....

While that might explain delivery problems, it doesn't cover communication and attitude issues. My gut is kinda telling me that this might be a financial issue. I hope not, but the more I think about it, the more I think that they may be taking a bigger hit these days. Since SC hasn't produced new tracks in some time, they are probably the go-to brand for better quality new issues now. If this is true, then they may well be taking higher piracy losses. This is all guesswork, and personally, I hope that I'm wrong. Nice product at a fair price. I'd hate to lose them as one of my sources.

Ordered a custom disc from them last week, it just came today, so at least that side is still working fine.

Just another reason I'm happy with my KJMP. Right, but it really doesn't have to do with this thread. The downloads are on a automated server, other than them uploading them to the server, that's all they need to do on their part. The discs still need to be hand packaged & shipped regardless of anything else. I do recall one or two of the manus becoming REAL slow about this time last year as well, maybe for the holidays is a possibility.

Just this morning I called Chartbuster and ordered two of the 12000 song packages. They said it would take 48 hours to create the drives for me and then they would ship 2nd day ground. I suspect Monday the 12th is the earliest I will see them. Will post here when they come in so folks get an idea of turn around times.

It is pertinent to the thread. Why are the cdgs lagging badly compared to the digital format? I'm sure it's more work and more expensive to create and ship the cdgs. Maybe they are shorthanded, maybe they have a few bad apples working there (what company doesn't) that aren't the most reliable or efficient.

OK, I guess I have to write off Chartbuster as another undependable vendor who will not fill their obligations.
Yup, I know they are filling downloads, and other MP3 reproductions that cost them nothing but that you pay for.
However, if- for instance- someone ws silly enough to go for a cert and the $200 "credit" in hopes of getting the DISCS to make them 1:1, I think you will either get screwed, or hit old age before you see them. They cost money to produce, and at this point I'm not sure if CB has any.
From current questions regarding discs on order, they are STILL saying ( para=phrased by me) "wait or cancel- we don't care." to distys. This, along with communication problems ( not answering inquiries), paints a picture to me of a company in serious financial trouble.
While that can happen to anyone, I would expect that they would or should be honest enough to say that they can no longer afford to fill disc orders, instead of taking said orders and leaving their "customers" hanging. No longer trustworthy.
Sorry to lose a great source, but- due to company attitude- moving on....

I was talking to them about the hard drive yesterday and during the conversation they told me there would probably not be any new cds until feb because of licensing issues. They were polite, to the point and appologetic about it. I want new stuff but I'm not going to cancel my standing orders. I guess owning businesses since the late 80's has made me a little more tolerant when companies have hang ups with things they have little control over. However I also ordered some All Stars to take up the slack in the mean time.

Well....I have to say that I am slightly concerned about CB as well. I ordered two of the 12000+ Hard drives and there were supposed to be 200 randomly selected physical discs sent to me along with the drives. I received the drives but not the discs. I emailed Greg Taylor on Monday to inquire about the discs as well as how to get my information up on the Certifed CB KJ page. I have yet to get a response. I will give a call today to follow up.
