Alright, so I just discovered this forum, and this looks like the best bet for figuring this out.

I've had this mp3 file on my computer for years, I believe a friend got it off usenet for me several years ago, and I've since then deleted the .zip file with the name of it.

It's a karaoke version (not an instrumental, obviously a CD+G or whatever) of the song Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-A-Lot.

Why do I want to know this one in particular? Well, it sounds the closest to the real song I have ever heard of any karaoke version. The quality of this rip is pretty bad, though, and I want to get the actual CD so I'll have a better quality. Which brings back the question: where did it come from?

I've uploaded it here so you guys can listen, download, whatever:

Ring any bells to anyone? If someone could figure out which CD this was on originally, I'll be really grateful. I've already ruled out Party Tyme and Sound Choice (the big ones) just by listening to the 30-second samples on Amazon.

Actually, following a post I saw earlier I downloaded DK Karaoke volume 72 and it appears to be from that.

Now, finding the physical CD will be quite a challenge, it appears to have been discontinued for a while and I can only find ONE for sale, on eBay UK, only ships to the UK... darn it...

If it were like, 320kbps that might be fine but these 128kbps mp3s are just awful.

I am probably DK's biggest fan, and I own DK-72. That being said, I'll bet dollars to donuts that if the version is the closest to the real thing, it's actually (believe it or not!) Singing Machine G5102- 2 ( or Track 11 if it has vocals).

Most of Singing Machine's stuff is pretty bad, but this disc seems to have it nailed. I'd give it a listen. If it's the right one, the disc will be a lot easier to find...

Interesting, never heard of Singing Machine but I'll see if I can find a rip somewhere.

The mp3 file I've had for a while is from DK 72, but if that one sounds more like the original I'll certainly give it a listen
