was in the hot tub lastnight and thought .. If I was an owner of a song library such as the Beatles or any other big band with many hit's, why not release karaoke tracks using the original song tracks and just drop the vocals? Use the actual recorded tracks. it seems like a no brainer for extra income on the product (songs) This way there wont be any crappy remakes. the company who can pursude bands to join in and do this could make a fortune. Just a Thought |

Taylor Swift already does that. Have heard there are others overseas who have also done it. The younguns pretty much work right through Taylor's discs but I have the feeling that we are moving away from anything other than buying only the individual songs that we want so don't know how entire "albums" would sell in the future unless it's a real big star. |

They might end up having to pay royalties to contracted musicians who contributed to the track. Singing Machine's "Original Artist Series" of Motown tracks are ALL studio masters too. |

Use the actual recorded tracks. Considering all artists still have access to the original multitrack masters so they could eliminate the vocals. Once an album is finalized, the mutlitracks are often erased and they keep a 2 track master. |
