Sucker!
You could have bought streaming service for $30 some dollars a month.

Troy...really? you actually rely on every venue having internet access or you're always assuming the internet is always going to be working? ...and you assume they're never going to go out of business and you'll have nothing to show for it? Chris, you made the wise choice.

In other words, for the same price that it will cost you to update your library every month, you could have just bought streaming service with access to all of those songs.
And if you got that directly from CB, I really feel sorry for you. I suspect that an Ebayer is CB in disguise, selling 50% off what the CB website advertises.
And I have internet service via Sprint. I don't rely on the bars to provide it. Why would I?

@TroyVnd27 -- My understanding of Chartbuster's Streaming service is that it is not for commerical use. This drive is absolutely for commercial use. If Chartbuster has a streaming service that is available for KJ's to use for public karaoke shows at live venue's, please send me the link. Also for Troy....what happens when/if their streaming service goes down? What happens if Chartbusters goes the way of SoundChoice? I have the music in my possession and purchased from them so I get to use it....forever. If they stop streaming or you otherwise lose connectivy, be sure to keep my number handy I can sub in for you Regardless, I think it is a heck of a deal to deliver a library this way. 1) No physcial discs to catalog and inventory for 1-1 2) Purchase of the drive automaticaly makes me Chartbuster Certified 3) As noted, I have it in my possession so I get to use it essentially forever. No worries about streaming being offline or Internet access issues. 4) The purchase directly from Chartbuster supports Chartbuster and helps keep them in the game. As for going directly through Chartbuster vs someone on eBay.....are you telling me that I should have risked sending a few thousand dollars to someone on eBay that I have never met, can't speak to, can't really verify anything about? You go right ahead. I don't take those kind of risks. -Chris

And I have internet service via Sprint. I don't rely on the bars to provide it. Why would I? Ther is no update charges every month for the KJMPHD. The only time you spend money is when you unlock a song into your library to remain there for unlimited play anytime anywhere and it is yours and it never expires or goes away. Btw, if you do use the streaming service for commercial use make sure you are using the KJams Pro @ 19.95 per month not the 9.95 since it is for personal use. CB does monitor the system to see how it is used so they know if you are using it on a regular basis (ie weekly or multible shows). How much does you internet access with sprint cost you? Aren't you limited to the amount of kbs you use before you are charged extra? Each to their own?

To be clear -
I did NOT buy the KJMPHD.
I bought the 12000+ Library. It was shipped on a hard drive, but everything is already unlocked. No credits involved. It costs significantly more than the KJMPHD service, but I wanted the whole library accessible to me right now.

Chris, I have purchased from ragnorakmedia on Ebay for about a year now. No problems ever. Ships in the exact same packaging as CB used to send me from the exact same location - Seymour, TN. Oh and by the way, ragnorakmedia sells only CB products. Hmmmm

@TroyVnd27 - I have seen the ragnarok ads on eBay. It is only speculation on your part that they are Chartbuster. If it is ever divulged that they are, then I will think about swapping. I am happy with my purchase though -Chris

Right, it is only speculation. However, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. How else would one Ebayer be allowed to sell CB products below minimum prices? I looked into being a dealer at one time, and there were minimum prices, and one of them (CB or PHM) specified that you may not sell on Ebay (they had enough Ebay sellers).
How do you inflame your dealers? Start undercutting them! That is why they wouldn't admit to it, if they were in fact CB.
Selling below minimum prices, coming from Seymour, TN, same packaging, ONLY selling CB products. That COULDN'T be CB.

I guess my questions then would be....
If I purchase through an eBay seller, does that automatically make me Chartbuster Certified? Does it get me a certificate to prove it? Does it get me listed on Chartbuster's site so I can prove it to anyone?
If I purchased through some one on eBay, would they also send me the same 200 extra physical CD's that I can give away to singers as freebies? Or even resell to offset my cost of purchase?
Does the eBay seller also provide the two certificates I received for recording sessions at Big Mama's studio?
Does an eBay seller give me a discount code I can provide to other people to give them a discount when buying from the eBay seller?
Does that discount code give *me* a cut of that sale?
All of these things provide value to me and in turn, to my singers.

You had better spend the additional money to unlock ALL the songs.... just in case.... because (as you said) "what if chartbusters goes the way of SC?"

I have been using online forums since the BBS days back in the 80's. One constant I have come to recognize is that people don't actually read what is written.

. You guys are funny. I can't answer the questions though because I don't want to tread the fine line of "selling" anything on here. I just like to pop in and see whats going on with KJ's these days and it's funny to see my name .

I bought from you a few times earlier this year, sorry probably won't anymore as I went with the KJMP. Are you sure you aren't the Vikings mascot?

-Chris lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Chris, my honest opinion of this deal, first of all, congrats on buying legit tracks. You don't mention price, I'm sure it was killer for that big a lot and now you don't have thousands of CB dupes. This would probably be in my top 5 ways of buying karaoke music. They offered me the scaled down version of this on the phone, I turned it down simply because I already have a large amount of Chartbuster songs and I don't want to pay for dupes. Plus I already had the KJMP so they offered me 500 songs for $300 which I took them up on. That's what I like about the KJMP. I don't buy dupes period. And I never buy a song that won't get sung. I only pay for the ones I want, not the less popular ones that just take up space on my drive. My advise to anyone starting out would be to get Compuhost and then buy the KJMP. Make your songbooks to show the Chartbuster songs, the entire library, then if someone requests a song, you unlock it on the spot. You don't need the internet for that, but you do to get the latest updates. So I just fire my laptop at home, connect my KJMP, fire up Compuhost, open up the KJMP and click "update". Within seconds I have any new songs that have just come out. You could literally start your first show with zero owned songs and buy as you go. Of course I wouldn't recommend that unless you have hosted for someone before and already know your way around in a karaoke host booth. Downside to this, Chartbuster does have a limited library, many good karaoke songs are not on Chartbuster so I will still buy an occasional CDG until they expand or the other manus go to a KJMP.
