If you sub your song, you ask people to comment. If you cannot handle critique, don't sub.


That is why most of us sub, to get other's opinion.


That has been my point from the beginning. I for one only have a computer standing on a dining room table, aka my studio!


Most of us don't have fancy equipment Lacey, most of us.


You couldn't offend me, because you are right. Let's set up some basic rules:
You submit and take what is thrown back at you. Do not explain how much new stuff you have, because you make me feel as if I have nothing.


We share the same opinion. I just don't want to read about your new studio and new equipment everytime I listen to your sub. That part belongs in your bio. Tell me why you subbed your song. Good memories, a sad moment in your life maybe.........?

agreed there... i think thats like trying to keep up with the neighbors... however like i said and i think we all agree its not the equiptment ... yes it makes good quality but you know what ... most of us here have headset mics and we are here to have fun we dont need it rubbed in our faces about the money spent on items to make us sound better... cuz like i said before its simple... the vocalist makes the difference cuz if you cant sing you can have a million dollar system and it wont make a darn bit of difference... back to my corner i go...

Simply put, STOP IT!

The Singer's Showcase & the Karaoke Forums are not the place to get into a heated battle of words.

If you can provide the singer with constructive information please feel free to provide that. However, if the singer would prefer that you just listen, please respect their choice.

I am working on a check box to offer "just for fun" or "critiques welcome" selection.

I am pleased that we have so many contributing members to the site. However, it takes only a few to make the fun end. I don't have the time to review each comment or reply provided. I have received several complaints from various members regarding some comments provided. If this continues I will have to "BAN" certain members from posting to the site. I would really hate to have to get to that point.

This is supposed to be fun for everyone. Remember, there are members from all walks of life - young & old - experienced & novices - professionals & amateurs.

one more question Phil.... since you are adding different things... is it possible we can add one for requests as well... just a suggestion because there are alot of comments i have read about suggested songs or requested songs... and maybe that should have its own catagory...

I agree with Phill. Everyone on the forum should just act like responsible adults in a public place. That's all it takes. I was reminded of that some time ago by another member when I made a rather rude personal comment in regard to one of his posts. He reminded me that there is private messaging available on this site and KS will forward e-mail to anyone who has their e-mail box checked on their profile.

I always sing just for fun.....I also take it very seriously. I love this site because it is good to have a place to do both. I just wish that people would learn to accept what other people think. You don't have to agree with it. It's good to expose yourself to other opinions and views on the world of music. I believe we can all get along if we learn to respect what each of us has to offer.... and we all have something. I also feel that we should confront people who are not playing by the rules and call them on their attitudes or it will just get worse.. Some will listen and some won't.

I hope we can all learn to live together on this site for the good of everyone.

I do submit just for fun.. if this was a competition I'd sure like to be paid for it.. Cause I work too damn Hard at making these sound right.

Some make it into a competition.. I use the tools i have infront of me.. that I use in my daily work.. for PLAY. Funtime is play time.. if you read.. some comment how great my subs some of you say technically are.. well if ya can't keep up.. then you i guess have a jealousy problem then.

because i'm not here to compete with some of you or your attitudes.

if you wanna compete or turn this into a competition..

STAY ON YOUR OWN PORCH! (with your dogs...)

or Put some cash in Your own systems. Then I'll show ya competition..

Personally... My feeling is, There is alot of information that can be learned from doing this and a network can be built if EVERYBODY puts thier differences aside..
I for one really hold no ill will against anyone here if approached in a positive tone.

but some live in the OLD SCHOOL and don't have access to the info I have with the manufacturers I have, Or did you forget I do have endorsements by several manufacturers as a LIVE Audio Engineer??

Remember.. we are here to have fun.. some forget that at times.. even myself.

the name of the place we sub our music is..............SINGERS..showcase...technics are good for presentation..BUT..i think the main idea behind the site..is the singing. I hear some great singers.. with so so equipment... some ok singers with great equipment... some eeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! singers with so much heart in them u dont notice if they sing off key... and basically just some really nice people.

i belonged to a site for over a year that was what i thought the best one out there. bickering and fighting and banning... ruined that site. you go there and look now and its just a shadow of the fun that was once had there....

i do think if you have things to discuss.the forum is the place for it. the subs should be about music...performing..sharing.. and listening.

the greatest thing about belongin to these sites are the networks you set up. I have learned so much...and this is a hobby to me. i know i will always be a MUCH better singer than i am a mixer...so what ..

when you go to buy a record..you will notice that they have two aspects..that have to both be there to make them "PROFESSIONAL"...one is talent on the end of the artist..the other is production. unless we have both...we can consider ourselves amateurs in my little humble opinion.

yall...dont let singersshowcase end up a dustbowl... its a sad thing to see. and never stop letting people voice their opinions...just require them to do it in a professionall..grown up manner...
