I have noticed that few submissions are available for rank...which is kool...:) we get that choice..thank goodness! but...i also notice that the topped ranked songs and singers lists are mostly people who chose not to be ranked..............................anymore.

I think in order to keep this list up to date with what is going on with the site... that if someone on the list doesnt allow their songs to be ranked for 30 days..or five subs or some criteria the powers that be come up with..then those names should be removed and the names of those who are allowing ranks...show on the "ranks" lists..

ok how many of yall would like to poke me in the eye right now :)

I dont mean harm..it is just..newbies show up..they say heyyyyy let me check out the list..and they get all songs that arent ranked..then one song from months ago at the bottom of the pile ..that was ranked...

just my little humble sunday mornin opinion..i better go clean house before i get flogged round here :)

No need to scuffle away scarycat, I agree with you. (but keep cleaning the house though.........AND don't forget the subs.Hmmm which one first :?: )

Anyway, a user can have his/her song/name on the list
#1: for no more then a week thus we work on a FIFO (First-In-First-Out )
#2: clearly if the song was not up for ranking, that song cannot appear. :roll:

This way we'll always have a fresh "latest" list. Currently Bro is on top, which he deserved, but you can only have this glory for a week, then it's someone else's turn.


PS: Phil, If you feel you're running out of things to do, PM me please, I'm sure I can come up with a new arrangement/argument :rotflmao:

Hello friends :) :

I am one of those that decided not to be ranked as well as not to rank others. My decision was based on the fact that I didn't think the ranks were being applied according to reality. Now with the guidelines suggested by the administration I think it is running a little better. IMO, singing, sharing and commenting is much more fun and productive. Rankink on the other hand is and should be serious business.
For the benefit of those who enjoy the rankings, I would like to remind you that according to the guidelines a 10 is nothing but a PERFECTperformance in every way!!!

I agree with Allstar's suggestion except for the time to appear on the list. It would be easier for the system to upgrade the list, lets say twice a month or at the max once a month. Presently, I agree with Kass, that list is not a true representation of what's going on at the site. Also I think that only songs open to ranking should appear on the list as well as singers.

im still cleanin lol..well now im eatin boiled peanuts..anyone want some? i agree with all of yall..shh im in agreeable mode dont anyone mess it up! lol

another suggestion...incorporate a policy..if u dont sub for an exteneded period of time...such as three months.....ur subs are removed..why waste that space.? all it will do is make ur cost rise which will make my cost rise which isNOT a good thing lol

alot of people sub songs simply to have somewhere to store them..send links out when they want people to hear them and they leave them there..and leave them there...or they forget them etc..unless they are keepin up the paid subscription ...which of course pays for itself..then the subs shouldnt waste valuable bandwidth..

wow..see what moppin with bleach does to me eek!

Once again a great idea you have. Delete anything older than X days/weeks/months. The karaoke forum (and us) should not have to pay the burden of you not having the HDD space.

Hi again, Kass and AllStar:

Kass, whatever you are doing keep doing it please. Your suggestions or ideas are formidable. Just for curiosity I checked pages 9 & 10 and there were songs from last December from members that have not been active since then. So you make an excellent point. I don't remember if Phill had established a time limit for keeping subs posted??? I would give more time for keeping songs posted to paying members than non paying members. I think it is a fair alternative and one more incentive to round up more economical support for the site.


Phill, if you are following this, please let us know what you think.

My suggestion is if you wish to be in the "top singers" or "ranking" lists ya have to keep your songs AND ALL of them open to ranking at all times.

Similar to any song that would be floating out in the music industry.. if a song suddnely ends up on some radio station's playlist.. poof ya get a vote.

ya get enough votes.. ya climb up the charts..

I hope ya'll see my point in this, and Phill gets my drift. 1 vote 1 member with a comment. (yes or no) forget about 1-10.

Heck it's an election year.. :wink:

You know, I was thinking about the time limit for songs to appear :idea: and regarding to active paying members, I think it is clear on the membership agreement that depending on which level we subscribe to, we are allowed to a certain amount of songs posted for as long as we continue our membership. There should not be a time limit 'cause after all, we are paying for it.

So, IMO it is the non paying members who should be regulated to a time limit :wink: because as Kass said, many have not been active for quite a long time and I don't see how that could be beneficial to the ones that support the SITE with $$$.

HI, i for one like all the idea's... ok did i say/type that? lol... i for one have left my rating box open yet i see no one rating my songs...i was thinking maybe it wasn't working, they couldn't rate my songs.... ya'll keep coming up with great ideas and kathy u keep mopin girl... just look at the dirt on those floors....any ideas on how to get rid of it? lol...that bleach go to ur head? with those ideas u better have another sip....i loveum

I have only seen one of my songe show a rating yet... i think it's a too tough for some to get rated that deserve it, not meaning myself. It still seems like a popularity contest no matter where ya go. :(

I know I'm the newguy on this stuff... but why not zero everything out as far as the ranking goes... new rules means new ranks.

Not that I think I'll place... with a basic membership, I'm just havin' fun with it... but I for one would like to see some people get ranked that WANT to get ranked!

I think as for ranking , and the different lists , why don't we just drop it once and for all ,and finaly get it over with ?and Well....Hmmmm . Everything I have posted here has been since the guidelines were updated , and I upgraded again . I'm not even finished posting the full 25 songs yet , now you guys wanna' start deleting them ??? uh oooh...or did I misunderstand something ???
:o as for the site saving space....seems to me that my monthly fee is paying for that space.Yes ,No,Maybe So ? :(
