I know many of the "regulars" here don't think too much of singing contests, but I thought I'd let you know that our 6th annual Homeward Star Search was recently completed, and a huge success.
The first prize of $1500 plus their own professionally produced demo CD & week-long radio spots drew amazing talent from a three-hour radius.
Some 90+ contestants took part over the eight-week run, with ten finalists who could hold their own on pretty-much any stage.
We had a video production company tape the final night, and I'm hoping to see (and hear) the finished product within the next week or two.
Perhaps I'll pull some audio for the Singers' Showcase (with permission, of course).

WTG Earl, a contest isn't easy to pull off, at least without kicking yourself in the butt for trying.... I don't think they would mind if you posted a youtube link in the singer forum....let's see some video....

That's awesome! I do a few little contests here and there but most of the time if its too consistent I loose regulars so try to be spontaneous about it. That's great that yours was such a success! Keep doing what your doing, looks like you got it down.
