Good morning, I had just brought one RCF 312a speaker for my system. The mixer i'm using will be the MG82CX. picture: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/ ... eiver.html I'm wondering if I should use a 1/4" TRS cable from mixer to XLR male into the speaker. (can i use XLR to XLR?) Which output will i need to come out from the mixer into the one PA speaker? (Is one cable enough or should i come out the mixer wiith dual output?) What is the best way to come out from the mixer going into one PA speaker? Can I add more sound to the room by using my 2 home theater speakers with the 1 PA. The PA speaker will play both music and live voicals. The 2 home speakers will play ONLY music and NO LIVE VOLCALS. What cables and where would i need to come out from the mixer to go into the Sony HT receiver? Sincerely, Viet |

You don't need, nor want, to send the music through the PA speaker. One cable from the mixer should be fine. You can just use the left, as your microphone will give the same output on both left and right. You can PAN left if you wish, it isn't crucial. |

O... So I only need to use Stereo Out Left on the mixer to go into the PA speaker. The cable would be 1/4" to XLR male. I have never used a mixer before and had just realized the PAN left thing. . (So I use Stereo Out Right to go into my HT receiver?) I will be using Channel 3/4 L and R for the computer audio. What channels (maybe 5/6 or 7/8) do i need to use or should I use Stereo Out Right on the mixer to run the MUSIC ONLY portion into my HT receiver inorder to play music though my HT speakers without live vocals? I guess what i meant was how do i send the music only portion without the live vocals from the mixer to HT receiver? |

I don't know why you are thinking the music is going to go to the mixer at all. Just the microphone for the vocals will go there. Your home theater amplifier and speakers will play the music, without involvement from your Yamaha mixer. |

Thanks for making things clearer. I would run audio-out from my computer to the home receiver and use the mixer only for vocals on the PA. Would this setup provide a better overall sound than running the music and vocals through the one PA speaker? |

When you do, run the left from the laptop to channel 3, the right to channel 4, and pan all left. That way you will get a mono signal to your single PA speaker. |
