It has a lot to do with who, how many are looking, and how bad they want it. One day it's $400, a couple days later $150, then back up to $300 a week later.....kinda like gasoline over the last few years.........did you win the bid?..... :)

I have an Eagles disc still in shrink wrap..

I wonder what it would go for?

You'd be lucky to get $10 for it. The BS wasn't worth it's weight in shrink wrap.

I've seen used 8125 go for more than this wrapped new one.......I don't think opening it takes away much value, it all depends on who's looking for one. I've spun mine twice.

Lon, you're right. BS couldn't hold a candle to 8125, BUT they did do a good job on "Get Over It" which SC did not record.

Which is why I still have the disc in service.

I have never heard an SC8125, believe it or not. So tell me--other than that there is a collector's item/prestige thing going with that one, is it really several hundred dollars better than Zoom Eagles?

I wouldn't say several hundred dollars worth, but it's much better than Zoom, although Zoom would be my 2nd choice had I not alread had my 8125 (got mine as a gift several years ago).

Is it sound quality? Arrangements? Just curious.

Both! Sound like listening to the Eagles instrumental of their original music. But again the Zoom discs sound ok, still much better than the BS Eagles disc..

Post subject:  Re: SC8125 Losing steam?

I bought it for a couple of reasons,

1) I like the Eagles songs and want to sing what I think is the best quality karaoke version at my shows when I can.
2) It is rare, and *might* be more valuable over time
3) Because it is rare, I want to have it available at as many of my shows as possible. I now have three of them.
4) It had an oddly formatted listing that I think fewer karaoke enthusiasts cuaght in their searches. I suspected it would go for a lesser price than I have seen before and I guessed correctly. :)

Thanks--have always wondered as we came on the scene a bit late to have gotten an original and pretty much avoided it as a "red flag" later. I toyed with getting it when the songs were briefly on custom but as Zoom wasn't offensive I spent my money on songs we didn't have yet instead.....

One thing that might boost the 8125 back up again is if the UK supply really does dry up due to the new export rules and then people won't have much left to choose from again as far as Eagles.

I've found 3 locally in the last year for under 150.00...one was 85.00...next 2 I find are spoken for at cost. :D

So, is this disk REALLY all that?? It's the Eagles. They're good, but damn........... I wonder if SC would have made a good Dave Matthews Band disk. Like I said in another post, CB really blew it.

I would have to disagree with that. I thought Get Over It was pretty bad on the BS disc. I personally prefer the Sunfly Version.

It wasn't all that bad. And a little eq'ing (and now help from Breakaway) make it much more tolerable. Although it doesn't get done enough to warrant replacing but will listen to SF version if it happens.
